Willem "Wim" Klein
May 1, 2025

Wim was born in Huizen, the Netherlands, on March 9, 1977, and lived there until the age of four. His family then moved to Canada, settling in Abbotsford, BC, where he spent his teenage years. While Wim did live in Creston BC for a year with his mom, dad and his younger 2 sisters, it was in Abbotsford that he met Jenn, who became the love of his life. They began dating in January 1998 and were married on August 12, 2000. They first made their home in Abbotsford, then lived in Chilliwack, and eventually returned to Abbotsford, where they spent most of their married life. Together with their many pets, including the cat, a ferret, a rabbit, and of course the dogs, Molly and Blue, their fur babies. Wim loved them all.
Wim had many hobbies, but his true passions were music and sports. Already at a young age, Wim had a gift for both. He could hear a song and beautifully play it on the keyboard, often adding his own personal touch. Wim was also a gifted athlete, winning many ribbons with his high school track and field team, and till the end, he was proud to tell anyone of his achievements!
Even though Wim himself never played ice hockey or soccer, he was undoubtedly the most devoted fan for both sports. He was truly the ultimate Canucks supporter, whether watching on TV or at the game. And when it came to soccer, the Dutch national team would get all his cheers. No wonder his favorite colours were blue and orange. And right up until only just a few weeks ago you would be able to find him cheering at a local soccer field almost every Saturday, probably the teams most loyal fan!
During the early years of their marriage, Wim worked as a tow truck driver and later as a repairman at Fraserway RV. Together, Wim and Jenn enjoyed many years, spending time together, drove many kilometers, and made many cherished memories. In 2013, Wim was diagnosed with HD, which slowly but surely took his body, and eventually took his life just a few days ago. He was able to stay at home under Jenn's devoted care until October 2019, when he moved to Menno Home for the last five and a half years of his life. Throughout this time, Wim fought his battle with courage and faith, and was an inspiration and a blessing to many.
