We also provide services and products designed not only to create a meaningful experience, but to minimize environmental impact. This includes biodegradable caskets and urns, environmentally friendly embalming methods, and partnerships with Green Certified cemeteries—helping reduce carbon emissions, conserve natural resources, protect our staff, and preserve our habitat.

Green Burial at Heritage Gardens
Environmentally Friendly, Natural Green Burial Options
The Green Burial Garden at Heritage Gardens is nestled in the serene southeast corner of the grounds, where deer often wander and the gentle sound of the Little Campbell River flows nearby. This peaceful area is also home to our flourishing pollinator meadow—an ecosystem of tall grasses, wildflowers, and native blooms that nourish two resident bee hives and support vital pollination work throughout the season.
- Embalming is not permitted
- The body is wrapped in a simple shroud and placed in a container or casket made from sustainable, biodegradable materials
- The shroud or casket is placed directly into the earth, without a liner or vault, allowing natural decomposition
- An intimate committal ceremony is held
- Supports local conservation and environmental efforts
