Uncle, we miss you already. I will always cherish our moments of road trips to Regina, trips to the mall to get our ears pierced (without mom and dad), picking your car, endless poker and pool games and so many more good times together! Without fail, you would cut holes in our socks and jammies and always be the first to grab our knees... you were always keeping us on guard. As time went on, I cherished ( more and more) our wonderful conversations and your genuine interest in what was happening in our lives (and more so when Brooke and Avery were born). You didn't miss a birthday, anniversary or special occasion. We love you very much and know that you will always be looking down over us. Dearest Uncle Jerry, we thank you for a lifetime of cherished memories and a legacy that will be forever in our hearts. You were loved by so many and had so much love to give. We will always remember the many conversations that left joy in our hearts about everything from how we were doing to when the little Cossack will get her Shetland pony :). Your genuine concern and interest for everyone was always so appreciated. You always kept in touch and never missed an opportunity to call to wish us a Happy Birthday or Anniversary which we always looked forward to. We looked forward to seeing you at family gatherings and loved the time we got to spend together. We will always remember the childhood moments we shared every chance we got...when we would catch each other "off guard"..."Gotcha"! You joked with us and we made each other laugh over & over. Those special memories will forever stay with us and we will remember you and our dearly departed who left us far too soon. You blessed our lives with a richness by being you. You touched our lives in ways only Uncle Jerry could. We love you and will miss you beyond words. God Bless you and all those in your company, watch over us as we look up to you. Uncle Jerry..... I mean Mr.Handsome..... how you are achingly missed! What a beautiful picture of you to capture the amazing you that you were. I am glad that you got to spend Christmas with Auntie Sharon, and our other family angels. What a special celebration that would have been. It brings me back to all our Boxing Day Bashes, and Country Clan Gatherings. There is nothing like spending time with your amazing family. And speaking of, now I am feeling guilty about our last horseshoe game, the championship round, rubbing it in maybe a bit too much when Auntie Brenda and I beat you and Brandy.... what a fine game that was.... and probably the last game we all played. I looked forward to seeing you and Auntie Sharon every time I went to Regina. It made each trip something to look forward to. I always enjoyed the snacks that were served (my first head cheese sandwich) or the delicious meals of Chinese, KFC or pasta that I would pick up and bring over. Things just won’t be the same should I make those trips again. You had such an amazing memory and mind. You cherished everything about our daily lives. You celebrated everything with us, and never forgot a momentous event. Thank you for your love, and for sharing your wonderful life with us. You will be so missed. Love.....Love Bug Cop and family

Sending our sincerest condolences to your family. We can see by all the heartfelt messages that he was a much loved uncle, brother, and friend. We never really know when those precious moments we share with each other will turn into precious memories. So sorry to hear of Jerry’s passing. I have known Jerry for about 50 years. Bob Edwards and I last visited him in Regina about 5 years ago. We had a wonderful visit with the “ Polish Prince”. We used to have many 3 way phone visits. Will miss you big time Jerry. Your long time friend Frank Riley.

I am very sad to see in the paper that Jerry has now joined his very dear Sharon in life ever after. We knew Jerry first from his many rounds of him riding by on his bicycle eventually followed by his miles of daily walks. While walking, he always had his head down, and wore the same light brown, corduroy, pants and dark hooded coat. In the winter his nose and face were often very red and cold looking. No matter the weather he said that he loved his walks and had to keep his heart strong. We started saying "hi" and before we knew it we became neighborhood friends and we always looked forward to a chat. He spoke often of how he loved and missed Sharon and put lovely memorials in the paper in remembrance of her. We had a large garden and I baked buns so I loved to drop off fresh garden produce and buns. He always greeted me at the door with a warm welcome and a very well-worn apron! I could tell that he loved it in the kitchen. I never did go inside for a sit down visit – always a side door chat or in the front yard. He had bowls of water and food outside the door for the cat – whether it was in the house or outside. My husband would often see him at the bank or Safeway – even then Jerry would take time to chat. As we spoke of our vacations we found out that he enjoyed the odd cigar so we brought him a box or more from the Dominican Republic. I'd also run into the house and hand him a few as he walked by. He’d put them in his pocket to enjoy later. We lived two blocks away but our neighborhood has a small town feel and charm. His unique 1984 Camaro could not be missed as he left to do errands – it was a beauty and it never failed to bring a smile. We were sad to hear that it had been stolen – I’m sure part of his heart went with that too. His car was a landmark on our busy street. I noticed it every time I walked or drove by his house – we all loved that car. After that we seldom saw him out and wondered how he was doing. I am sorry that I didn’t just go knock on his door – and now it is too late. Sending condolences to the family and letting you know how much we loved and miss Jerry. We will always cherish the lovely memories of him.

My heart felt sympathy & condolences to Sylvia Meakin, Jerry's loving, devoted sister, & to her family, Ron, Rhonda, Carmen, Brandy & their families. I, personally didn't know Jerry but hearing about him & knowing his sister Sylvia, he was a very special guy and will be sadly missed.

Jerry was our neighbour for many years. He was a wonderful neighbour who always asked about our families. He was kind, generous and funny. Often we would come home to see that he had shovelled our driveway or rolled in our bins before we had a chance too. He often left treats for our dog and cat on the doorstep. We will miss him as a neighbour.
