It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald George O'Brien Pettigrew. Ron passed away on August 3, 2026 in Regina, Saskatchewan at the age of 73.

Ron was born on December 5, 1952 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan to George and Lillian Pettigrew. Ron grew up in Regina and graduated from Martin Collegiate in 1969. He then went on to pursue his passion in music. At the age of 21 he started working with his Father in the family business.

In 1974, he married the love of his life, Brenda Joy Forsberg. They went on to have three children, Adam, Sara and Garett. Ron then moved on to work for Freightliner Trucks/Warner Industries, where he retired at the age of 60. Outside of work, Ron was committed to the music industry. He continued his passion until the day of his passing. His latest gigs were entertaining seniors. He played at over 190 Senior Homes across Saskatchewan with the Old-time All-Stars ( Brian Sklar, Donnie Young, & Todd Lueck)

Ron was known for his quiet strength and calm presence. Whether he was with his wife, children, grandchildren or friends, his love was always felt in his smile, demeanour and conversation. Especially his grandchildren. He took great pride in being their biggest fan. He was able to experience the joy in the lessons they learned while watching from the stands and made sure they knew how proud of them he was. He was thoughtful and steady in every situation and his gentle nature and quiet kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Ron will lovingly be remembered by: Wife of 52 years Brenda, Son - Adam (Marni), Grandchildren - Ty and Shelby, Daughter - Sara, Son - Garett, Sister- Kim Pettigrew, Brothers - Rodney Pettigrew (Margaret) Roger (Tasha) Pettigrew, Cousin/Brother - Glen (Wendy) Joorisity , Sisters - in law - Karen Hoffert, Val Moore, Colleen (Bruce)Kane, Aunts - Roberta Freethy, Gail Hoskins, Darlene Hoskins, many nieces and nephews and extended family.

Predeceased by: Dad and Mom - George and Lillian Pettigrew, Baby Brother Jeffrey(in infancy ) Maternal Grandparents-Sadie and O'Brien Hoskins, Paternal Grandmother Marguerite Raven , Aunts and Uncles - Harmon Freethy, Phyllis (Lou) Joorisity , Bill Hoskins, Les Hoskins, Nephew Joshua Pettigrew, Mother-in-Law - Edna Forsberg, Sister-in-law - Sherry Gribbon, Brothers-in-law - Jim Hoffert, Glen Moore and beloved Dog- Rosie
