In Loving Memory of Richard Jarmolicz
February 16, 1953 – July 10, 2026

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Richard Jarmolicz on July 10, 2026, at the age of 73.

Rick was predeceased by his parents, Lucy and Elias.

Rick is survived by his beloved life partner, Patsy Nyuli, with whom he shared many happy years.

He leaves behind his cherished sons, Justin Jarmolicz (Sherri) of Red Deer, Alberta, and their son, Bowin, who brought endless joy to his Papa; and Jason Jarmolicz (Melissa) of Calgary, Alberta. Rick was immensely proud of his sons and treasured the men they had become.

He was also a proud and devoted Papa Ricky to Angie Thomson of Ponoka, Alberta, and her children, Raina (Clayton) of Ponoka and Grady (Kelsey) of Sylvan Lake; Amanda Neuls (Tyler) of Grenfell, Saskatchewan, and their children, Ila and Gunnar; and Kelsey Nyuli of Toronto, Ontario, and her daughter, Sawyer.

Rick welcomed them all into his heart as his own family, and being “Papa Ricky” was one of the greatest joys of his life.

Rick is also survived by his brothers, Ron Jarmolicz (Denise) and Gordon Jarmolicz (Anita); his sister, Linda Jarmolicz; many beloved nieces, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.

Rick’s greatest joy was his family. He especially loved watching his grandchildren participate in sports, school events, and the many activities that brought them happiness. Whether cheering from afar, proudly watching from the stands, or joining in whenever he had the chance, he treasured every opportunity to be part of their lives. Their accomplishments, both big and small, filled him with pride.

Rick had a lifelong love of hockey. From playing the game as a young boy to competing in college and senior hockey, the rink was a place where he found both joy and lifelong friendships. In later years, he cherished playing old-timers hockey and especially enjoyed watching his sons and grandchildren play, coach, and develop a love for the game. Some of his happiest memories were made at the rink, surrounded by family, teammates, and friends.

An avid golfer, Rick also found great happiness on the golf course, enjoying both the game and the friendships it brought over the years.

Rick will be remembered for his generous heart, his quiet sense of humour, and his willingness to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed.

The memories Rick created through his love, kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to his family will be cherished forever.

Though his passing was sudden and leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who loved him, his legacy lives on in the family he adored and in the countless lives he touched. His love will continue to be felt in every story shared, every laugh remembered, and every family gathering where his presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
