Mary Martina Parlee (nee Noonan)

August 21, 2025

Mary Martina Parlee (nee Noonan)

With immense sadness, we share the passing of our cherished mother, grandmother, aunt, sister-in-law, and dear friend, Mary Parlee on August 21, 2025. Just a few days after the anniversary of her soulmate’s passing on August 16th, and a day after what would have been their 59th anniversary, Mary passed away quickly and peacefully at the place she called home in Langley, BC. She is deeply missed by her two children, their spouses, her four grown grandchildren and many, many friends and family members who she loved so very deeply. Mary was a devoted friend to many and a loving Mom and Gramma to her family. Mary was broken hearted from losing Mac in 2022 and never quite enjoyed life the same as the many happy years they shared together.

Mary, the youngest of seven children, was born and raised in Brockville, Ontario. She was remarkably close to her family, and her older brothers and sisters took exceptionally good care of her while her parents ran a busy luncheonette down the street. After high school, Mary went to business college and worked at Black & Decker in Brockville along with a few of her siblings. She and Mac married in 1966 and made Brockville their home for a while, as well as Stratford, Ottawa, and Kingston before moving to Rothesay, New Brunswick for Mac to take a promotion and be closer to his side of the family. Mac’s career took the family west, and they ended up in the Walnut Grove area of Langley, BC where they made their home for 33 years until Mac passed away from cancer in 2022. They had some family nearby and met many wonderful people in Langley through Mac’s work and their deep involvement in the Euchre club at the Legion. Mary favourite things were to spend time with friends and family and to play cards, especially on a lone hand😊!

Mary lived by the phrase “Live, Laugh and Love” and it resonated through everything she did. Her friends and family were the absolute joy of her life. She always said, “if I knew how much fun grandchildren were, I would have had them first!” and loved every moment with her four grandchildren. Those kids are all young adults now but will fondly remember their fun times with Gramma Mary! We all miss her dearly but are comforted that she is now at peace and with her darling, Mac.

Memorial donations can be made to Tamir, a society that supports people with Developmental Disabilities and people with Autism to live their best life by promoting individuality, independence, dignity, and community inclusion, and is a cause very close to Mac and Mary’s heart at https://www.tamir.ca/donate-now/

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Live, Laugh and Love with Mac forever! Always in our hearts!
