Marjory "Joyce" Kellington

March 6, 2026

Marjory Joyce Kellington (Mactaggart) born September 3, 1944 in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully March 6 surrounded by the love of her family.

Joyce was raised on the family farm and, after finishing high-school, her and Merlin moved to Regina where she built a life filled with family, kindness, friendship, and community.

Joyce was the beloved mother of Cheri (Kevan) and Heather, and a proud grandmother to Noah (Ally), Lauryn, and Carter, who brought her endless joy. She was a cherished sister to Barry, Shirley and Ross and aunt to several nieces and nephews was predeceased by Merlin and her parents, Howard and Edna.

Joyce devoted much of her life to caring for and teaching children. She began her career as an elementary school teacher and later continued her work as a preschool teacher, where her patience, warmth, and gentle encouragement shaped the lives of many young learners.

Community was at the heart of Joyce’s life. She was deeply involved in volunteer work, especially with Girl Guides, where she mentored and supported generations of girls. She was involved at almost every level of the association and attended a World Jamboree. She loved campfire songs and did crafts with her Trefoil Guild for many years. She believed strongly in helping others and giving back, and her kindness touched many people in Regina and beyond.

Later in life Joyce was diagnosed with Scleroderma. While it made life challenging, she also met many other people living with the condition. She became very involved with the Saskatchewan Scleroderma Association and traveled to conferences across Canada.

Outside of her work and volunteering, Joyce found happiness in the simple and beautiful things in life. She loved birds, gardening and crafts, and she had a special eye for creativity during her time working at Sally Frame Shop. She treasured her friendships and had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcome and valued.

Joyce will be remembered for her generosity, selflessness, and the many lives she influenced through her teaching, volunteerism, and friendship.

Donations in her memory can be made to the Saskatchewan Scleroderma Association.

The family will be hosting a come and go tea and Celebration of Life at the Regina Floral Conservatory on Saturday March 28th at 10:30am.
