Felix Macknak

Felix Macknak, late of Cupar, SK, passed away on October 12, 2021 at the age of 81.
He is survived by his wife Betty, daughter Norma (Mark), sons Rodney (Kim) and Russel (Carmelle), nine grandchildren and six great-granddaughters. Felix was born on the family farm and was the second eldest of six siblings. He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Mary and his sister Helen.His passions were hunting and fishing and he was still active on the farm.
Many thanks to Dr. Dalkilic, ANP Lorissa Vye, and the staff at the Regina General Hospital Unit 5A for their care. As per Felix’s wishes there will be no funeral service. Private Family Graveside Service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Touchwood Hills Wildlife Federation, Box 545, Raymore, SK S0A 3J0.

I have been thinking of Felix often since I heard of his death.We had infrequent contact over the years after my family moved to Dysart when I was 13 years old, but frequent times together until then. 7 years in a country school, family get- togethers--- xmas , easter, weddings , funerals, church--- and often I would cross the pasture that joined our farm to Uncle Joe and Anunt Susie's and then a quarter mile beyond to visit Felix and Helen. Only a few months separated the three of us in ages and Felix and I had lots of 'farm boy' stuff in common. His death shocked me into realizing the passing of time and a reminder of my own age. My condolences to you Betty , your children and grandchildren , in your loss. A fine fellow. I have many vivid memories of our boyhood times together and can easily recall his voice as I write this --- probably telling me to quit the B.S,. and get on with it.
