Annie Love

Annie Love (McNulty) last of the McNulty family that emigrated from Portadown in the County of Armagh, Ireland in 1926 at the age of 7 years old. The family of ten made their way to Lumsden, Saskatchewan where Annie was part of the community for the rest of her life. She passed away peacefully on October 23, 2018 at the age of 100 years.

She was predeceased by her parents William Harry (Pat) and Mary McNulty; loving husband Dick; young son Norman; two brothers and five sisters.

Leaving to cherish her memories are her children Hab (Betty Lou), Aden (Elsie), Fay (Ken Luhning); grandchildren Shawn, Lisa (Terry Hollman), Leslie, Chris (Whitney), Shane Luhning, Krystie (Brad Kovatch); great-grandchildren Eryn, Mason, Jasper, Winter, Emmerson, Charlotte and Christian; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to her nephew, Ron Kidd, who was so helpful to our mother. Thanks to all her friends at the Lumsden Valley Cafe where she held court daily.

Annie was a wonderful baker. Her multiple desserts she served with tea were enjoyed by many family members and friends. She loved to joke around with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. At family gatherings you would find Annie surrounded by the kids.

A special thanks to the doctors and staff at Unit 4A and Palliative Care at the Pasqua Hospital.

It was Annie’s wish not to have a funeral. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Hi! Hab and Fay, I first time I met Fay and your mom was in the hospital, oh my goodness your mom was so stinking cute. Hab introduces me to her, wowzers did I ever like her...we were talking about something. Oh Hab she says with a big smile on her face which lit up that room. As the days went on, and we got to visit. I had the pleasure of hearing some beautiful words and stories about your mom, I must say she was a fighter, she had her own special way, that kept her going, with her own story to tell, she kept that story going to the end until her story was complete. What a beautiful job she did at that. Thank you both for letting me spend time with you, to be able to get to know your mom. I sure know who Annie is now, and oh boy do I ever like her. There are many Angels in Heaven, and now we know another one by name: ANNIE

John Lipp and Margaret (nee Lee) met Hab at Saskatchewan Teachers' College in September 1963. We were in the same class because we all had surnames beginning with L. (Lipp, Lee and Love). Hab was one of the great guys in the class and although we didn't see each other often we remained friends over the intervening years. Our condolences to Hab and Betty Lou and the family on the loss of their mother and grandmother. I noticed that Annie was born in Portadown in County Armagh, Ireland. Marg's Great-Grandmother was born in Portaferry, on the Ards Peninsula, near Portadown. (Small world for the Irish saints among us). May God keep her in the palm of His hand.
