It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Alvina Mary Lewis on Sunday, June 25th, 2017 at the age of 71 years. Alvina was born in Estevan, SK on August 12, 1945 as the seventh of eleven children. She was predeceased by her parents Germaine and Leo Pelletier; brothers Leonard and Wilbert; sisters Loretta and Dorothy; nieces Wendy Mae and Debbie; nephew Derrick; and her loving husband Mervin John Lewis. Alvina is survived by her sons Tracy (Noni) of Beaver, Utah and Scott (Amanda); siblings Marcel (Amber), Leo/Butch, Margaret (Gary), Brenda (Blair), Linda (Kent) and Rhonda (Lloyd); grandchildren Alex, Manuel, Roza, Brittany, Janna, and Austin; as well as a healthy number of nieces and nephews. Alvina married her love Merv in Regina, Saskatchewan on December 22, 1968. She gave birth to her oldest son Tracy just a couple days later on Christmas Day, December 25, 1968 and her youngest son born a few years later in April 1973. These three men were center in her life. Alvina’s working years were predominantly in hospitality, with 25 of those years as bar manager at the Royal Canadian Legion in Regina. Together with her favorite pastimes in bingo halls and card games, she became one of the friendliest faces in the community to all who crossed her path. An enjoyment of fishing, camping, and nature in general nurtured treasured memories for her and her family. Her kind and motherly ways, and loving care that only a mother and grandmother could give, will be sorely missed. Yet solace is taken that she is now free from her suffering, and in her being reunited again with her love Merv. A VIEWING will be held at Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Services, 1265 Scarth Street, Regina, SK on Tuesday June 27th, 2017 at 4:30 p.m. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 550 Sangster Boulevard, Regina SK, on Friday, June 30th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery with reception held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Cards, donations and flowers will be graciously accepted at both the Viewing and Memorial Service or can be sent to Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services at 1265 Scarth Street S4R 2E6, Regina, Saskatchewan.
God called your name so gently
that only you could hear,
No one heard the footsteps of the
Angel drawing near
Softly from the shadows there
came a gentle call
You closed your eyes and went to sleep
and quietly left us all.
I have an Angel watching over
me and I call her
Mom
