John Joseph Kuffner

July 5, 1946 - March 2, 2023

John Kuffner of Indian Head, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully at the age of 76 years after complications due to surgery. John was born on July 5th, 1946, in Lebret, Saskatchewan, a middle child to John and Mary (nee Pelletier) Kuffner. John leaves to mourn his loving wife Marj, daughter Tracey (Dean) Rogers, sons; John (Raelene) Kuffner and Robert Kuffner, grandchildren; Kennedy and Kamdyn Kuffner, Jonathan and Alicia Kuffner and Teri-Lynne Reynard, sisters; Bernice Blair, Jean (Lloyd) Thompson, brothers-in-law; Les Kopp, Stan Penner, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. John is predeceased by his grandparents; parents John and Mary Kuffner, parents-in-law David and Margaret Parsons, brothers; Tommy (Vicky) Kuffner, Henry Pelletier, sisters; Marie (Sveto) Federoff, Karon Penner, Sharon Kopp, his granddaughter Ashlee Kuffner, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

John started school in Indian Head, then moved to Regina and attended Balfour Collegiate. He spent most of his time in and around Indian Head. As a young adult, John exhibited a fierce loyalty for friends and family. John loved hanging out with his cousins and attending dances at the lake, where Manny and Rance Amyotte were usually at his side. John had a love of cars and led an active social life. John apprenticed as an ironworker in the 60’s and enjoyed a lifelong career with Ironworkers local 771, making lifelong friends along the way. John’s love of working on cars resulted in many classic cars coming and going throughout his life. John could almost always be found in the garage, at a car show or at Majestics every spring. John grew up in an era when automobiles were works of art and excelled at a hobby of restoring the original glory of many of them. John had a great sense of humour from the beginning to the end of his life. When he was young, his mom had a prize chicken. John was outside playing and shot the chicken with a bow and arrow. It only went through the skin, but he found it hilarious.

A special thank you the Nurses and staff at the Regina Pasqua hospital, especially in the ICU for the kind, compassionate care they provided to John during his stay.

A celebration of life will be held in Indian Head, SK on June 3rd at the Memorial Hall on Grand Avenue at 1 pm with scattering of the ashes to follow in Lebret, SK.
