Bruce Richard Benjamin Keith
May 17, 2018
We are deeply saddened and forever changed by the loss of our husband and best friend, dad, pabo, son, son-in-law, brother, uncle and friend. Bruce passed away in the Palliative Care Unit of the Pasqua Hospital on Thursday, May 17, 2018 surrounded by his family. Bruce was predeceased by his grandparents Benjamin and Rose Awrey. Left behind to mourn his loss and forever cherish his memory is his wife and best friend Pam and their children, Jaymes Bailey-Keith (fiancee Jessica Pluhowy) and Jordan (Ryan) Knaus; parents Richard and Ellen Keith; sister Tammy and her husband Mike von Bulow, who was more like Bruce's brother than a brother-in-law, and their children Hayden, Holden, Hudson and Jakob; sister Brenda Keith and her children Chantel and Madison; and Pam's parents Loney and Evie Bailey. Bruce also leaves to mourn him his two favorite people, his grandsons, his “best friend" Lukkas Bailey-Keith and his newest little buddy Tripp Knaus. Bruce is also survived by his grandson Lukkas' older sister Ariel and their mother Rachel Cozma. Bruce loved old cars, Rider games, having house parties, going to Craven making his famous yukaflux, Mexico, being at the lake, camping, fishing, boating and spending time with the people he loved; but above all, his greatest joy was being “Pabo" to Luk and Tripp and spending time just hanging out or playing with them. Bruce will be remembered by all who knew him as a strong, honest, hard-working man who put his family first and loved them deeply. His kind and good nature made him a valued friend to many and he was liked by everyone he met. It is a testament to his character that Bruce's motto throughout his entire illness was, “it is what it is" and he worried more about Pam and his family then he did about himself. He faced his diagnosis with strength and courage and handled every challenge or setback with the utmost bravery. Not once did Bruce get angry or lose hope. He fought hard and tried with all his might to stay here with us and he remained strong and brave until the very end. We will miss him tremendously. We would like to thank all the amazing staff of 3B at the Pasqua Hospital for their never-ending compassion, care, and kindness. Bruce was continually saying how awesome each and every staff member and nurse was. Also to Dr. Kimberly Hagel, a huge thank you for her relentless efforts and support to help Bruce and for fighting right along with him until the very end. Lastly to Barb Troy-Hebert, NP, and Tara Bilash for their unwavering support and compassion and for guiding us through all the challenges we faced along the way. There are not enough words to express to all of you the gratitude in our hearts for giving Bruce peace and hope. Bruce’s Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. in Regina Funeral Home, 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK. Bruce would want you to be comfortable, so feel free to dress casual or in your Rider gear as he was looking forward to attending the pre-season game this upcoming weekend, as well as to going to as many games as he was able to this season with his Alberta cousins and/or brother-in-law. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to Pam Keith for the purpose of setting up an educational trust for Lukkas and Tripp.
