Judit Kralik
July 25, 2025
Judit was born in Budapest, Hungary on May 7, 1949, to Erno and Anna Teltschik. She was an active child who loved playing sports, kayaking on the Danube, and going for nature walks with her family. As a young adult, Judit fell in love with Geza Kralik who was a co-worker at Kipszer in Budapest. At the age of 23, she followed him to Canada. Geza and Judit were married in 1972 in Winnipeg, Manitoba where they went on to build a home of their own and raise three children - Eve, Rob, and Pete. The Kraliks were part of Winnipeg’s tightly knit Hungarian community, and spent weekends camping and sharing traditional meals on holidays and special occasions.
For 25 years, Judit worked at the Health Sciences Centre’s Lenox Bell Lodge where she welcomed guests who were caring for their ill loved ones. Because of her warm and friendly spirit, she became lifelong friends with some of families that came through during that time.
Judit was delighted to become a grandmother in 2002 and was thereafter lovingly known to everyone as Nagyi. She adored being a grandma and happily spent as much time as she could with her beloved granddaughters. To them, Nagyi’s home was like a second home.
Judit was passionate about fitness and healthy living. She loved to practice yoga and was eager to share her enthusiasm with her family. She also had a lifelong appreciation for spending time in nature and was able to spend ample time in the great outdoors on family trips throughout Canada and the United States. In 2015, after retiring, Judit and Geza moved to White Rock, BC, and enjoyed taking daily walks by the ocean and in old-growth forests. Judit loved listening to Hungarian music and maintained a deep connection to her culture, of which she was very proud.
Judit courageously battled breast cancer after she was diagnosed in 2022. She inspired us all with the great love she emanated and her tenacious will to continue living. She did not want to miss a thing.
Judit is survived by her husband Geza, daughter Eve (Joel), and sons Rob and Pete (Beth), her two grandchildren Juliet and Amaya, and her sister Gabriella (in Hungary).
Judit Maria Kralik, 76, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, in White Rock, British Columbia.
Istenke vigyázon rád!
