“Grief only exists where love first lived” ~ Franchesca Cox
HARVEY, Daphne Jean “Bunny”
June 21, 1937 – August 17, 2015
Bunny passed away peacefully and unexpectedly in her sleep at the Bethany Care Centre, shortly after visiting her ailing husband and her children at the family farm.
She is survived by the love of her life, her devoted and loyal husband, Ross; her children, David Harvey, Patty Harvey (Brant), Jackie Kessler (Charlie), Andy Harvey; grandchildren, Cassidy Noble (Lee), Brittany Kessler, Amy Harvey, Coy Butterfield, Breanna Harvey, Katie Harvey; great granddaughter, Mila Noble; and sister, Pat Corry. Bunny is predeceased by her parents, Peggy and Jack McKeown.
Bunny was spirited, spontaneous, mischievous and proudly Irish. Rules were meant to be broken, windows were escape routes and trips were most enjoyable when taken impulsively. She was fascinating, incredibly intelligent and beautiful. As a young woman, she was crowned Miss Teen Red Deer and first runner up for Miss Western Canada. She was simply wonderful. Every person she met, she captivated. You only needed to meet Bunny once and you would never, ever forget her. She had the most wonderful sense of humor! She had many struggles but she also had a very strong faith that brought her through anything. She was infinitely proud of her profession as a nurse, proclaiming “I’m an RN” to her children just hours before her passing. Cass, Britt, Amy, Coy, Breanna, Katie and Mila were constantly amused by their “Namma”. They honestly loved her every quirk and flaw. She was perfect in their eyes and they adored her.
We all knew her heart of gold. She was beautifully imperfect and had a wonderful soul. We will miss her profoundly. At Bunny’s request, no Service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bunny’s memory may be made to the Red Deer Hospice, 99 Arnot Avenue, Red Deer, AB, T4R 3S6.
HARVEY, Walter “Ross”
April 4, 1936 – August 20, 2015
Our beloved “Pakka” passed away peacefully, at his Poplar Ridge home, on August 20, 2015 surrounded by love and family. Dad leaves behind a strong legacy of love, a passion for nature and kindness. He was truly a gentle man. Dad raised a family that reflects his strong work ethic, passion and love for animals, nature and all living things: except squirrels, he hated them. Dad was eternally kind, gentle, soothing and raised his family, never too strict, never too lenient. His family not only included his four children, but nieces, nephews, grandchildren and all of our farm loving friends. Through 55 years of marriage, raising a family, running a farm, Dad stood steadfast in his vows to his dear Bunny, to love, honor and cherish, till death parted them. Dad “Pakka” leaves to cherish his memory his four loving children, David Harvey, Patty Harvey (Brant), Jackie Kessler (Charlie), Andy Harvey, five grandchildren, Cassidy Noble (Lee), Brittany Kessler, Amy Harvey, Brenna Harvey and Katie Harvey, great grandchild Mila Noble and two sisters Margaret Whyte and Joan Johnstone, many cherished nieces and nephews. Ross was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Daisy and his loving wife Bunny.
