George James
5 December 1949 – 1 May 2025
George Arthur James, 75, passed away peacefully with family by his side at Grace Hospice.
George was born in Fort William, Ontario on December 5, 1949.
He often told us stories of his family being the last to have horses in the city
and fondly remembers how their tails were braided for the fair.
He enjoyed playing guitar and drums as well as having a passion for sports, especially hockey, baseball and football and was an avid spectator of each right up to his passing.
As an adult he moved to a small town in Saskatchewan called Grenfell, where he met his wife to be, Vicki Smith. They were married in Grenfell, had four children and eventually settled in Regina. He went from being a cook/chef to trying his luck as a salesman to a warehouse worker. He loved spending time in the garage creating and making things from wood.
He also enjoyed passing time watching wrestling (not sure if mom ever approved of him watching it or if it was just when the kids were around.)
George spent his life doing what he thought was best for his family, from providing for them to protecting them in his own ways, which some we will never understand. He had his own way of showing he loved his family.
George is survived by his loving wife, Vicki, of 39 years. Sisters Judy and Lorrie. Brother in laws; Johnny (Virginia), Greg (Cathy) and Dale (Charlotte). His children; Spencer James, Jason (Jacqueline) James, Kiara James, Richard (Ashley) James; grandchildren; Joelee, Jennifer, Jessie, Jordyn, April and Colton.
A celebration of life will take place at Glen Elm Church of Christ. 1825 Rothwell St. Regina, Saskatchewan on May 10, 2025 @ 11 a.m.
