In the late hours of November 5, 2020 at the Regina Pasqua Hospital Constance (Connie) Louise Davidson, our dear daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend succumbed to her fight with pancreatic cancer with her immediate family at her side during the final hours.
Connie was born on July 19, 1950 to Ray and Ann Davidson of Shellmouth, Manitoba. She was the second child of the eventual eleven children forming a close knit and loving family.
Connie attended primary school in Shellmouth and quickly garnered a reputation for her kindness, and sense of humour while able to delight everyone with her artistic abilities. It has been suggested her giggles were as infectious as her laughter. She carried her artistic view of the world throughout her life and it became a common source of pleasure with several of her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
After attending High School in Russell, Manitoba she moved to Regina to begin working in the hospitals there. In the late 1970’s and on into the early 1980’s Connie upgraded herself and graduated as a Registered Nurse in Regina in 1984. The ensuing celebration is still one of family folklore. Connie then used her RN degree to work for the Saskatchewan Lung Association before retiring in 2010.
Throughout her life, Connie kept a strong faith and placed emphasis on the healing of the body and soul. She carried this belief from her adult life to well into her retirement by practicing and teaching reflexology and reiki. Her circle of family, friends, and clients increased as each was blessed with her loving attention to healing from within.
Her love of playing softball as a pitcher with the Assessippi Aces carried over to her early years living in Regina where she played in a ladies’ softball league. These games were generally attended by Regina family and friends and generated many a catalogue of cheering phrases that were the source of more laughter and giggles throughout the years…especially “You tell him cabbage, you got the head.”
Her love of life and the need to help people was evident with her generosity of her time and resources to assist others. Her habit of naming her vehicles also added a dimension of passion to her life and early in her adult life she to was given the nickname…Frosty.
Connie’s aunts and uncles in Regina were especially important to her and provided mutual support times with all of them. The practise of playing spoons, canasta, or just visiting carried on until the final months of her life. As noted by one uncle “We will miss our weekly canasta games with her.”
Connie was predeceased by her father, Ray in November 1996, her niece Abby in March 2016, and several precious aunts, uncles, and cousins on both the Petz and Davidson sides of the extended family.
Connie is survived by her mother, Ann 91 years of age of Shellmouth; sister Judy (Rob) and family; sister Penny (Garry)and family; brother Darcey (Linda)and family; sister Sandra (Dewar) and family; brother Kelvin (Debbie) and family; sister Candice; sister Gayle (Randy) and family; sister Shelly (Elmer) and family; sister Wendy (Tom); and sister Colleen (Miles) and family.
Connie was cremated and as per her wishes her ashes will be spread amongst a bed flower next year.
May God keep her in His presence.
