I was shocked to hear of Carolyn's passing so am sending my love and condolences to all Carolyn's family, relatives and many friends. Living in Ontario, it is hard to get together with my father Frank's relatives yet, when I do, I feel the special closeness of Rebeyka cousins. Carolyn and Pauline hosted my brother Terry and me at the last reunion. Carolyn's beautiful blue eyes and lovely smile will be remembered. Love, Joan Wellar ~ Joan Wellar

We are sad and very sorry to have lost Carolyn way too soon. She was loved by many. We knew her from our earliest days in the SK Young New Democrats, through U of S days and when we moved back to Regina. She was a special person. ~ Dawn Stanger and Duane Haave

I thought that I was going to have countless more interactions left with you, Carolyn. And now you are gone, with barely any warning, and you should have had so much time left. I will miss you, Carolyn. I was never big on school, so for me, it has been the characters like you that have taught me the most over the years. Growing up around you for the last decade or so, I learned to always be myself. And to share my smiles & my laughs, just like you always would with me. You share your interests, your kindness, your compassion, your caring heart, your genuine concern and your humour and all your quarks… this, and much more, has made you an incredible person to be around since I’ve known you. You even shared with me how to love snakes, and I’m so glad I do now, ‘cause that’s pretty excellent. I love you, Carolyn. Rest well. I’m so sorry this happened. And also: for Carolyn’s family and her friendship network, I hope for you peace in time and I offer my condolences. Feel free to reach out for anything ~ Ariana Bourgeois

Sincere condolences to the Family and Friends of Carolyn. I met her some 30 years ago through our involvement with the NDP. She was such a lovely woman, friendly, kind, supportive and caring. We were in touch via text message now and again. Although, I knew that she was unwell. Her death is still a shock to the system. May she continue to Rest In Eternal Peace and Rise In Glory with her Heavenly Father. ~ Judy Kobsar

Today is the first day of the year of the snake in the Chinese calendar. Knowing Carolyn's deep love for snakes, I wanted to wish her a happy new year. Then I learned about her passing. It is impossible for me to put my shock into words. Carolyn was such a lovely and great person. It was a huge joy discussing snakes, politics and other topics with her. Having Carolyn around was always a pleasure. I will always fondly remember how Carolyn (together with Stephen and many snakes) drove all the way to Winnipeg just to say "hi" to me. My deepest condolences to her family. ~ Ferdinand Ihringer

I am saddened to hear of Carolyns passing. I've only ever known her with a snake around her neck on one of her many adventures with Stephen. She was always full of light and kindness and it radiated as she was always surrounded by people. The kids always ask me if we will see "The snake lady" when we travel. She was loved and will be missed by many. Sending sympathies from all of us at Fenek Farms. ~ Madison

I only knew Carolyn in a work setting, and only for somewhat more than a year. Yet I have pictures she took of one of her snakes she brought in to the office - said snake loosely coiled around my arms. Such interesting animals. I'm glad she shared them and was more glad to have known her. Until reading this obituary I had no idea that Carolyn had such a deep history in the labour movement. I knew she was a solid fellow worker, but not to such depth and breadth. Carolyn you will be deeply missed and are gone too soon. My condolences and sympathies to your family and friends. May you Rest in Power. ~ Wesley Cameron
