Lori Jean Volk

August 12th, 2023

With great sadness we announce , Lori Jean Volk, 59 years old, of Regina Saskatchewan, passed away quietly with her family near, on Saturday August 12, 2023.

Lori was born and grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan.  She remained in Regina where she worked in various sales and office positions.  Most recently she worked at Pratts where she received much compassion and support after her brain tumor diagnosis.

Her last few years brought many challenges before and while awaiting surgery.  She faced it brave and unafraid.  Unfortunately, she was unable to recover from the surgery and subsequent complications.

Lori was talented and enjoyed doing arts and crafts.  Her real passion however was live music and she made many friends on her travels to see live concerts.  Somehow, she always managed to meet the band and ended up forming relationships that lasted many years with many rock stars.

Left to mourn are her Parents Joyce and John Volk and her Sister Cindy Volk.  She will be sadly missed by her aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends many of whom are spread out all over the world.  The outpouring of love in her chats and social media has been overwhelming and heartwarming.

We know Lori is soaring high and enjoying a beer with her good pal Kenny Shields.

Funerals were not Lori’s thing so a private graveside memorial will be held with immediate family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Regina Humane Society

Dear Cindy, so sorry to hear this very sad news. My condolences to you and your family for your loss. Take care.

Deepest sympathy to Joyce, John, and the family.

Condolences to Joyce and family.

My deepest sympathies, what a tragic loss. Take care, Judy Zimbaluk

My memories of Lori go way, way back to our high school years at Thom Collegiate. I can’t clearly recall how we struck up a friendship as Lori was a few years older than me, but to this day whenever I hear a Burton Cummings song I think of Lori and the time she got us backstage at a concert to meet him. It is so true that music makes memories and while we hadn’t stayed connected, I will hold close to the memory of the great times we had together. The song has ended but the melody lingers on. Sing with the angels, Lori. My condolences to Cindy and family.

Go with God, Red. I'll take care here until; I'll see you again when I get there, dear Sister. Not one day will go by here without thoughts of you and joyful appreciative tears. Thank you for being a force of change in my life, I will never forget you. God's love, dear Sister.

This was never something we dreamed would happen. Her outlook and the outlook of those around her was so positive. Your time was cut too short. You will be, and already are, missed. My condolences to the Volk family in this hard time. Peace Perfect Peace, Lori

I worked with Lori at Pratts and got to know some things about Lori. We shared also in the lottery and always hoped we would win something substantial so we could fulfill some of our dreams, unfortunately that never happened. I’m going to miss her that’s for sure. RIP Lori.
