Daniel Deroche

November 29th, 2020

It is with heavy hearts we are announcing the passing of Daniel due to complications from Covid-19 on November 29, 2020 at the age of 65 years. Daniel passed away peacefully with his favourite music playing. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Ben and Katie Mastel; his paternal grandparents Emile and Evelyn Deroche; mother Rose Starkebaum; father Stanley Deroche; brother Jim Deroche and baby brother Kurt. Daniel will lovingly be remembered by his sister Debby (Ted) Powles of Winnipeg, MB; brother Chris (Erin) of Regina, SK; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Due to Daniel’s complicated disabilities, he spent the majority of his life at Valley View Centre in Moose Jaw, SK before moving to his new forever home in Regina under the care of Clare Parker Homes Inc., a non-profit charitable agency providing person centered supports to people with intellectual disabilities within their own community. These past 5 years were Daniel’s happiest and I can’t thank this organization enough for their dedication and quality care of my brother. Special thanks to Rosa, Michael, Josephine, Joyce, and all those who cared for him and made his life better. Daniel will be remembered as a gentle soul and a strong fighter. He will be dearly missed by everyone whose lives he touched. Cremation has already taken place. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family Celebration of Life will take place when it is safe to do so.
