Harry Dean Paul
November 18, 1956 - Innisfail, Alberta
February 3, 2021 - Red Deer, Alberta
Age 64

Our beloved brother and uncle, Harry Paul, of Red Deer, AB, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, due to Covid-19 complications. Gone now to join the Lord and be reunited with his parents in Heaven.

Harry grew up on the family farm at Spruce View, AB, with wonderful neighbours; a menagerie of farm animals; and ample farm equipment to keep him amused. He attended Spruce View School and eventually Parkland School and Residence in Red Deer. After his schooling, Harry continued living with his parents in Red Deer and then Penhold, while working at Cosmos. Harry ultimately transitioned into supportive living with Parkland Community Living and Supports Society (Parkland CLASS) where he happily resided, until his passing.

He is lovingly remembered by his sisters, Charlene Strauss and Agnes (Grant) McKain both of Chilliwack, BC; sister in-law, Marg Paul of Calgary; and brother, Richard Paul also of Calgary. He is fondly remembered by nieces and nephews, David Paul, Christina (Sean) Bain, Sandy (Steve) Tarasoff, Lisa Kirkham, Christine McKain, Steven McKain, Clinton (Elizabeth) Paul, Graham Paul and Jesse Paul; and numerous great nieces and nephews. Also, by lifelong friends, Dan and Evy Hoover of Colville, WA, and their family: Cindy, Josie, Duane, and Esther; David McKain of Innisfail; and all of the Paul, De Jong and Heinsen cousins.

Harry was predeceased by his parents, Dean and Elizabeth (Betty) Paul; baby, sister Teresa Paul; brother, Dave Paul; nephew, Wayne Kirkham; and brother in-law, Erwin Strauss.

The family wishes to extend our gratitude for the care and compassion provided by the staff at RDRHC Unit 31 and ER; his Physician Dr. Holmes and staff at Parkland Medical Clinic; and the Parkland CLASS staff who provided 30+ years of dedicated service.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, no Funeral or Memorial will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held later, when it is once again safe for us to gather. If desired, donations in Harry’s memory can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association 2204 2 Street SW or the SPCA 17904 – 118 Avenue, NW, Edmonton, AB, T5S 2W3.

Messages:

Heartfelt condolences.

My niece was Harry’s roommate. They got along very well as they shared a love of farm life and horses. He always came to say hi whenever I dropped by to pick up my niece or stopped in for a visit. Our family sends our condolences to your family, he will be missed.

MY THOUGHTS GO OUT TO THE FAMILIES OF HARRY I HAVE A LOT OF GOOD MEMORIES OF WORKING AND DOING THINGS EVERY DAY WITH HARRY WE HAD SO MUCH FUN DOING THINGS TOGETHER HARRY IS WITH JESUS NOW AND IS LIVING WITH JESUS FOR ALL INTERNTY

I will remember Harry and the Paul’s who were our last stop on Christmas Eve after Mom and Dad took us caroling around the community. The adults would sit together over a drink in kitchen and much laughter while all the Paul and Bryant children were giddy with the good cheer of Christmas. Fair winds Harry. You were loved and you are missed.

Thoughts of comfort and sympathy to Harry’s family. He was a genuine and pure soul. RIP
