Mirielle May Klapwijk

 Mirielle May Klapwijk
January 5, 2019 - March 23, 2024

Our living MIRAcle.  After all, that is the meaning of her name, miraculous, and she lived up to it!  Mira was born into this world on January 5, 2019.  It was a birth like no other.  The doctors had given her no hope of survival let alone making it until her 1st birthday; she celebrated 5 birthdays.  For someone so tiny and limited in her natural body she had a momentous impact on those who knew her; those who knew of her; to even complete strangers who would either meet her on our journeys or hear about her story through others. She said nothing but her story was an inspiration and uplifted many all around the world.  Her medical diagnosis (label) did not define the person she was or the things she could or couldn't do.

They said, "she will not make the birth"; they said, "she will never breathe"; they said, "she will never eat orally"; they said, "she will live her life on oxygen tanks", but she defied her medical label.  She was the little MIRAcle that could.

Unfortunately, Mira departed this world to meet her Maker on March 23, 2024.  She leaves behind a very loving family: dad, Kevin, mom, Claire, older brother, Luke and little sister, Emilia.  Yes, she got to be a BIG sister even if it was only for 3 /1/2 months.  And she wore that title proudly.  Others she leaves behind, grandparents:  Alan and Leicia Jackson, Ferdinand and Virginia Klapwijk, Aunts and Uncles:  Andrea and Paolo Giardullo, Ashley and Marcin Styk, Matthew and Brittany Klapwijk, Amy Jackson and Rynard Greeves as well as all her cousins: Emma, Henry, Remi, Ellorie, Gigi, and Ariele.

A service will be held for Mira.
