Brenda (B) Mae Smith

(Nee Bourret)

July 12, 1964 - June 26, 2021

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we must announce an early edition to the stars.

Early Saturday, morning, Brenda Smith (nee Bourret), passed away peacefully in her home.

She was a wonderful soul who will be missed by many for so many different reasons. A sister, an aunt, a friend, a mother, and the proudest grandmother out there. These past few years were oh so hard on Mom and now she can be at peace for the first time in a long time. We here were not ready, but Mom was.

She would only want to be remembered with laughter and love. So that is what we ask. Do not mourn the time that could have been. Celebrate the times had.

We appreciate any and all condolences you may send. Messages may be sent to either Ron and/or Connor Smith. Please in place of sending any flowers to their home please make a donation to the Red Deer hospital or the IODE. The Red Deer hospital is an underrated medical institution with magnificent staff that did so much for mom over the years. The IODE was one of Mom's many passions, where she could try to help as many people as possible. Really she would want you to donate to what you think matters. Mom was an activist and wanted to help all she could, so if you can think of another cause she was passionate about, donate to that one in her honour and share it with us.

Arrangements made to celebrate this wonderful woman will not be rushed. A private family affair will be held at a later date.

Thank you for any love and patience during this time,

The Smith Family.
