It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather Louis John Wickberg on April 4, 2019 at the age of 86. Louis was born on November 15, 1932 to Edwin and Katherine Wickberg and grew up in Paradise Hill, Saskatchewan. Lou moved to British Columbia when his parents moved to work on the Alaska Highway where he got a job working for United Grain Growers. He met his future wife Doreen Frank while living in Dawson Creek. Lou and Doreen moved to Grande Prairie in 1973 where Lou got a job at the Procter and Gamble Mill working in the Stores department where he worked until his retirement.  Lou and Doreen relocated to Airdrie in 2004. Lou is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Doreen; sons, Doug (Sharon), Greg (Brenda) and daughter Lori (Vic) Mulyk; grandchildren, Shawn (Christie), Dustin (Cory), Tamara (Kelly), Danielle (Brendan) Hartman, Matthew (Lindsey), Nicki (Josh), Alex (Lorena), Jonathan; 9 great grandchildren; and sister, Madeline Merwin. Lou was predeceased by his parents, Edwin & Katherine Wickberg; his in-laws Adam & Katherine Frank; brother Clem Wickberg; and sister Doris Tracy. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 1305 Main Street, Airdrie, AB on Friday, April 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.  In lieu of donations the family has requested you do a random act of kindness and hug your family.

Although we did not know Lou that well, he always had a smile on his face and loved to joke and we always said hello to each other before or after mass at St. Paul's Church. Our condolences to the family and may he rest in peace.

We were sad to hear of Lou's passing. He was a sweet man who we were proud to know. We loved his sense of humor and kind heart. We are unable to make it to his funeral but would like you to know our thoughts and prayers are with you all of you. We will miss him.

Our sincere condolences from Monique and I. Worked in Stores, at Procter & Gamble, with Lou, for several years ! Wonderful man to work with, always ready to help with anything you might ask . Always smiling and like too play little jokes on some, when he knew he might get away with. He will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to have known him! God's Blessings on all the family.

From all of us at the Kingsview Bow Valley Branch, we extend our thoughts, prayers and sympathies. We loved seeing Lou (trouble) in the branch, joking with all of the staff and members. He will be missed greatly. He was always smiling and happy!

My heart felt condolences to the family.. I worked with Lou for Many years while he was at P&G, and remember him as a happy loveable character. Love and blessings to all..
