Ruth (Taylor) (Handel) Collins our dear Mother, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at the age 85 years after a long battle with dementia.
She is lovingly remembered by daughter, Karen Hanson (Karl); son, Donald Handel (Joanne); three grandchildren, Jarrod Hanson (Jennifer), Branden Hanson (Cassy), Keith Blackburn-Handel (Amelia); three great grandchildren, Emma, Ava and Jacob; second husband, Vernon Collins; sister, Gwen, two brothers, David and Joseph, and countless other extended family. Ruth was predeceased by her father and mother, Norman and Dorothy Taylor; brothers, Ken, Ernie, Bob and Gordon; sister, June and her first husband, Ted Handel.
Mom enjoyed spending time with her family the most but also liked gardening, square dancing, doing petit point embroidery, and watching the great movie stars of the silver screen.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Woodside Seniors Club, 411 Woodside Drive Northwest, Airdrie, AB on September 8, 2019 at 1:00 pm.

Just heard about your mothers passing.I have been out of touch for a few years.just noticed that Vern had passed also,My husband and I square danced and camped with them.and had many happy times.So sorry for your loss.I went to see Ruth when she was in Sarcee nursing home. ~ Joyce Gee
