Dakota Brady Walkey

January 21st, 2021

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Dakota (Koda) Brady Walkey.

Dakota was a beautiful soul who brought a  tremendous light to the lives around him. He was indeed the big daddy we all needed  & he will be missed immeasurably.

Dakota was born in Billings, Montana on November 14, 1993 and passed away at home in Airdrie, Alberta January 21, 2021.

Dakota is lovingly remembered by his parents, Scott and Sherry; his grandmother, Marilyn; his aunt, Norma; his girlfriend, Andrea; fur baby, Luna; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings and an abundance of close friends.

He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Leland Walkey and Walter Wiens; and his grandmother, Maree Walkey.

Dakota loved travelling, music, wood working, good conversation and better food. He will be remembered most by his big, beautiful smile and his unconditional love for the people closest to him. His presence lit up the room and made everyone in it feel a little brighter. Dakota overcame many challenges in his life and graduated from SAIT as a Red Seal Journeyman for sheet metal and gas fitting.

In lieu of flowers a donation in Dakota’s memory may me made to a charity of your choice.

My heartfelt symphathy on the loss of Dakota. I did not know him at all but he sounds like a wonderful, loving person. My love to Andrea, whose pain cannot be imagined and to Dakotas family, this loss must be unimaginable. Teresa, please know that we are thinking of all of you with love and wish you all strength to help Andrea. She has a loving family and I know you will all be there for her. Love Aunt Tina, Uncle Jerry and family.

We met Dakota when he and our son became best of friends at BCHS. Dakota was a special guy, always friendly and easy to talk to (despite our age difference lol). We will forever cherish our memories of sitting by the fire pit with him, and talking and joking with him whenever our paths crossed. Our sincere condolences go out to his family and friends. "A life that touches others goes on forever."

My condolences to your family, you were such a funny, smart and resilient person. Always lit up the room with laughter and great energy. Rest easy.

Andrea, my darling, I am so sorry. Please extend my condolences to his family as well. Teresa, thanks for posting.

I will miss you and love you every single day.

Sending my love and condolences to Dakota’s family and friends. May you shine through the light Andrea will continue to carry for you. ❤️

My heart is broken. You were and always will be so loved. Rest easy sweetheart. I will miss you. xoxo
