It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Walter was born February 15, 1931 in Edmonton, Alberta. He was the oldest child and only son of Walter and Lydia Scheidt.

Walter is lovingly remembered by his 4 children, Barbara (Barry) Fox of Calgary, Laura Lee (Wayne) Hrabok of Didsbury, Darrell (Karen) Scheidt of Didsbury and Carol (Tom) Hadway of Didsbury. Walter was a loving grandfather who will be sorely missed by his grandchildren, Megan Fox of Calgary, Cassandra Hrabok (Jeff McKinnon) of Evansberg, Lindley Hrabok of Red Deer, Cole (Lauren) Scheidt of Red Deer, Rebecca Scheidt of Didsbury, Dayna (Caith) Cameron of Didsbury, Will Hadway of Airdrie, Andie Hadway of Didsbury, Josie Hadway of Didsbury and his 5 great grandchildren, Blake and Jhett Hrabok of Evansberg, Sloane Scheidt of Red Deer and Carter and Calum Cameron of Didsbury. He will also be missed by his numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Walter was predeceased by his loving wife, Elsie; mother and father, Walter Sr. and Lydia; and his sister, Adrienne Turnbull.

Walter’s family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to the staff at Bethany Care Didsbury for the loving care and kindness that Walter received while a resident there and for the support that was given to each and every member of the family during his stay there.

A Celebration of Walter’s Life will be held at Knox United Church, on Friday, June 21st, 2019 at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Walter’s memory to the Knox United Church Memorial Fund, 1406 - 19th Avenue, P.O. Box 57, Didsbury, Alberta T0M 0W0 or Heart and Stroke Foundation 100, 119 – 14 Street NW, Calgary, AB  T2N 1Z6.

Dear Laura Lee, I wanted to express my sincere condolences to you in the loss of your father. I would have liked to be at his funeral today but previous commitments prevent it. Please know that I will be thinking of you and wishing you and your family peace and happy memories.
