Christie Eileen Barker

January 15th, 2018

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Christie on Monday, January 15 2018, at the tender age of 42.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Dylan Barker; daughters, Casey & Piper; parents, Al & Bev Greenlee; as well as extended family and the many great friends she has made over the years.

Christie had a love for all animals. She was a natural pool player & won one team title at the Worlds-VNEA in Las Vegas. She loved to cook & loved gardening. She was the ultimate party coordinator & she loved to travel & get away. But most of all she had tremendous love for her family.

Pre-Deceased by Christie's Grandpa Casey, Grandma Alice, & Aunt Suzie.

A Celebration of Christie’s Life will be held at the First Alliance Church, 12345 - 40 Street SE, Calgary, Alberta on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 10:30 am.

I am so very sorry you hear about Christie will always remember her love for Sampson. Thoughts and prayers are will all of you

My deepest condolences to Christie's family and friends. She touched so many people with her beautiful smile and glowing personality. She was a true joy to be around. She will be sorely missed by so many people. It is a true shame to lose such a wonderful person so early in life. She will live forever in our thoughts, hearts and memories.

Dear family of Christie Eileen Barker, May I extend my deepest sympathies for the loss of your dear loved one. To lose someone so young and loving seems almost impossible for a family to cope with. A scripture that I find comforting is John 5:28, 29 which assures us that there will be a resurrection of the dead. What a beautiful promise that is. Please visit our website jw.org for more about the happy future we can look forward to.

Christie was and will always be sunshine on cloudy days, thank you for making me smile every time I was in your presence, I will never forget you!!

We are so sorry for your loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Dylan We remember those we have loved in a thousand ways. It may be our first thought in the morning or our last memory before we go to sleep at night. A special place or a favorite song plays on the radio which brings back our most cherished memories of them. Although Christie is no long here with you she will forever walk beside you and our beautiful girls whereever you go. My your loving memoies comfort you in this time of loss. We were so blessed to have shared some special memories with Christie in Tijuana. Sending much love and healing to you at this challenging time.

"Full of laughter, Full of light, In a battle you tried to fight, Your family and friends rallied for you on this ride, The feelings of anger and sadness you put to the side, You created magical memories for your girls to know, The struggle you faced you didn't show, A mom, a daughter, a friend and a wife, You showed everyone the true joys of life, For when you're feeling sad and the days can seem darker, Be strong and remember a sunny face in the loving Christie Greenlee-Barker."

We have wonderful memories of you & your little family in Maui. Christie has left you the best memories of all - your little girls. You will always see Christie's bright light in them. You were all lucky to have had her in your life! Hugs from both of us. Harvey & Leanne

Christie was such a bright light in a world that can be so dark. Such a loss that words can't express. My condolences to Dylan, her 2 beautiful girls and best friend Kim.

Nothing I can say will heal your hearts, the sadness you must feel at this time is immeasurable but please know that my friendship with Christie although not very long (6 years) is one that I will treasure in my memories forever. Her smile lit up a room, and then she started to laugh and you had to laugh with her !!! Most of my memories are from when we worked together, I still think of her on a Wednesday morning when the dental rep. brings in cheese buns from Glamorgan bakery.......we had first dibs on those and you could always count on Christie to leave hers in the toaster oven a few seconds too long and then the office would smell of burning cheese!! how we used to laugh. Dylan you were so lucky to have chosen her as your wife, Casey and Piper..if you turn out to be half the women your Mom was then you will be incredible young ladies. Bev and Al you raised a beautiful soul, may she rest in peace and please know she will be missed beyond measure. xx

I am so sorry. Bev thinking of you.

Thank you Christie Greenlee-Barker for all the great memories and your glowing personality. You have added a bit of sunshine in all of those -lucky enough to have met you! Bye.... for now. ❤️Your friend Lloyd❤️

My deepest condolences for your loss. Hugs and prayers to the family.

Dear Bev & Al and family: we are so sorry for the loss of your daughter Christie. Prayers and hugs to you all.

I met Christie and her husband Dylan about 2 weeks ago at the treatment center in tj where my mom is currently being treated. I was introduced to both Christie, her husband Dylan by my mom who had been talking with them both during treatments. I was then introduced to their girls through some photos and although I did not know her Christie I could tell right off the bat what a great lady she was. Her and Dylan had this genuine and kind persona. I know as a mom she had no intention passing on so soon but god unfortunately had other plans for her and she is lucky enough to have Dylan as her partner to care for them both. She will definitely be looking down knowing they were left in great hands with her Dylan. I am heart broken from this news and wish this family nothing but the best moving forward through this unfortunate news. RIP Christie and hang in there Dylan... along with the rest of the friends and family involved. Sincerely, A complete stranger... Staci <3

Dear Dylan, Bev and Allan It is with saddened hearts we sent these condolences. Christie was a beautiful and strong woman. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in these coming days. Sadly we will miss this memorial as we will be in Hawaii. We will say a prayer for all of you that day. Love cousin Darlene and Edwin

Words cannot express how truly sorry we are for this loss of a bright light from your loving family. Christie shone like a star that lit up everywhere she went. Her passion for family and friends and her generosity of spirit will be what we remember most about her. Comfort is a hard thing to come by in times like this but we hope you know she was loved not only by you her family but by the many friends who were lucky enough to know her and to be the recipients of her beaming smile & kind heart. Ar dheis De go raibh a h-anam (may her soul be at the right hand of God).

Dear Dylan, I have to say that, I can't remember a time of loss like this in many years. My heart aches for you and your little daughters.
