November 26th, 2023

The world lost a special angel on November 26, 2023, at 10:49pm.
Our heavy hearts mourn the loss of our beloved wife, mother, grandma, sister, auntie, nana who passed away peacefully with her family by her side.

Ellen Erickson, age 75
Born in New Westminster, British Columbia
Survived by her husband Brian, daughter Amy, son in law Dave, grandson Brennon, sister Norma, nieces Cori (Gioia and Daniele), Julie (Natasha and Summer) and Jenny (Liam and Lucas) and nephew Wes (spouse Tirra), as well as so many of her close friends far and near.

To fulfill Ellens wishes, there will be a celebration to honor her wonderful life in the spring in our garden when all her flowers bloom.

Little Ray of Sunshine

Our little Ray of sunshine how nice you came our way,
Your ready smile and sweet hello have brightened many days.

Your color, vivacity, and warm heart brings comfort to us all,
Remembering milestones of your life were never ever small.

The love for you remains with us, for love itself lives on,
Our cherished memories never fade even though you are gone.

Little Ray of our North, our South, our East, and West,
Our talk, our song, and our Sunday best.

Our love never more than a thought apart,
Forever in our memory you live on, within our heart.

As we travel the world as you asked, thinking of you,
Your harmony within the hearts of others were so very true.

Our little Ray of sunshine so full of kind nurturing ways,
Your healing support continues to uplift all of our days.

Your enduring happy spirit with such a vibrant hue,
Teaching to appreciate life in its fullest, to all those you knew.

We celebrate your life so full as you sparkle our days of gray,
Oh, you little Ray of sunshine we’re so thankful you came our way.

Messages:

We knew Ellen for too short a time before she was taken from us. We will always remember her genuine warmth and generosity; always cheerful, always ready for a visit with a new or old friend. She had such a big, loving personality in a petite package. We will miss her dearly! Ed and Corinne

Love you Auntie En! Say hi to our mom in heaven!

Although I only had the privilege of knowing Ellen for a short while, she was a warm, genuine, kind soul. Please accept my heartfelt sympathies. May the beautiful memories she created in her time serve as solace to her family and friends.

Our favourite memories of Ellen were, our four o’clock get togethers. Ellen would always make us laugh and help us forget our troubles. She would always get so excited about any fresh new garden produce and experiment with different ideas to taste. It made us enthusiastic to grow our garden. Ellen’s strength shone through and she showed us how to live a life to the fullest, She was such an inspiration. Ellen , we will miss your bright light but you will forever remain in our hearts and memories. Rob and Freda

To my sweet Auntie En, you are so missed by all of us. I miss our talks already but I am eternally grateful for the time We had with you. The boys will remember you forever, the fun we had when we first moved here, the laughs and your famous pasta salad. Rest in sweet eternal peace, but please come to visit us while we sleep. We love you and will miss you forever. Jenny, Massimo, Liam and Lucas Xoxoxox

It's difficult to find the right words to describe the loss that has impacted us all--yet also the joy we found in being around her. Ellen was a beautiful and wise person from the first day that I had the honor of meeting her. I deeply thank her for raising a beautiful daughter, being a wonderful grandmother, and being one of the most down to earth people you could ever meet. You will always in my heart and mind. Always steady and even keel with the ability to "...go to plan B" when things didn't align the way things might have been planned--and if that didn't work it was off to "plan C". The world lost a light with a heart of gold.

Auntie En you were so amazing. From all the great times doing the crab walk on our exotic holidays to our mastering the short club bid at our Bridge nights with mom. You will be missed but will always be with us. Love you forever. Wes and T

Bye bye sweet Ellen! You were an amazing woman. Stay in peace wherever you are. We will always celebrate you with a glass of wine in our hands and a smile on our face in memory of you. Sending love to all the family in Canada and in Rome.
