Kristin (Kringhaug) Crouch - July 20th, 2023.

It is with great sadness to announce the sudden but peaceful passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. Kristin will be forever missed by her loving husband Jim of 35 years, her children Clint (Kora), Laurie (Lindsay), William (Tracy), Julie (Grayson) and her 6 grandchildren, Blake, Ava, Gavin, Elliot, Lily and Scarlett.

Kristin spent her working years at Save on Foods in Ladner and after 37 years, she decided to take an early retirement to do what she loved most, to garden and to spend time with her family.

She enjoyed spending countless hours with her grandchildren and showing them around her garden. She loved to watch them raid the blueberry and raspberry bushes, snap off peas or pull carrots and eat them right on the spot.

Kristin's passion and love for gardening was infectious. She was a Master gardener with a diploma in horticulture and a garden speaker for 10 years. She then became the Host for Delta Cable’s “That Bloomin Garden and the Delta Gardener." Kristin loved sharing her garden wisdom with all her followers and friends. She will be greatly missed in the community.

The family wishes to thank all of our friends and family for their support during this time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Delta Hospital Foundation.

Service and reception will be held at Ladner United Church. Friday, August 4th at 12pm. 4960 48 Avenue, Delta.

Messages:

I remember Kristin when she worked at Save On Foods in Ladner. She was such a friendly and warm person. I was pleased a few years later when I discovered she became a Master Gardener, giving interesting lectures through the City of Delta. She was personable and always answered emails about gardening. Her death is such a loss to the community. My condolences to her dear family.

I just saw Kristin's obituary in today's Optimist and was gutted to read about her passing! I remember getting to know her way back in the 80s when she worked at Save On and later when she got involved in designing gardens. We met up occasionally through mutual friends but lost touch after I lost my husband and went back to work. My sincere condolences go out to her family and close friends! If I had known earlier, I would have attended her service to pay my respects. I'll remember her as a sweet, friendly person who loved all aspects of gardening and always had a smile for everyone.

Kristin was part of the fabric of the community of Ladner. To quote part of Mary Elizabeth Frye's poem..." Do not stand at my grave and weep "I am the wind when you felt it blow, And I have seen my children grow..... I am in the rain, the stars, and sun, My grandchildren's laughter as they run. My condolences to all her family.

I just saw the obituary in the Optimist and I’m shocked to hear of her passing and unfortunately I missed her service at Ladner United. I so enjoyed her gardening shows on Delta Cable and seeing her in the community. What a wonderful and joyful person she was. My sincerest condolences go out to her family and friends. There is a beautiful garden waiting in heaven for you Kristin. Gone too soon.

I got to know Kirsten through her Facebook page and from watching her gardening advice on Delta Cable. From going to seed exchanges, picking up seedlings at her door and getting advice on her Facebook page She was always joyful, informative and fun. Through her I learned of the Community garden and became a member , which became a lifesaver over the isolation of COVID. I never met Farmer Jim or the family, but feel I know them from her writings in her columns. I often walk the trail across the slough and admired her garden and the little Boy Blue fishing from his bench on the shore. Condolences to her family.

Rest in Peace Kristen Your next garden will be more beautiful than we could ever imagine. Thoughts and prayers to your family and friends ❤️

We will miss her so much in our group of moms. She was an amazing friend and person. Our hearts go to the family. We are with you in your pain.

Our hearts & love go out to Kristin's family. She was such a special selfless advocate & organizer for countless gardening activities in Delta. Kristin gave so freely of her time & talents to our community. Terribly missed already & gone too soon - maybe she's preparing the great garden in the next world for us all!
