Messages:

I have just learned of Bonnie's passing. My condolences to each and every member of her family. Bonnie and my husband, Elmer, were cousins. (Elmer passed away in 2010) May you find comfort in your memories of happier times.

Rest in peace, Aunty Bonnie. So many of my memories of Bonnie go back to a time of visits to Granny and Grandpa Harke in Edmonton when I was a very small girl and she, likely in her twenties. I was surprised and so pleased to get a letter from her in 2011 when Uncle Cyril told her I'd had a book published. She sent me some deeply moving poems she'd written, and at one point sent a photo she had of Mom and Dad's wedding that she thought one of my children might want to have. Bonnie said she was only six at that wedding but remembered it well and would always remember my Dad, Morris, who was full of fun and so unique. She loved him dearly, as I know she loved all of her siblings. She will be forever beloved. Prayers of peace and comfort to all of you children and grandchildren who are mourning the loss of this beautiful woman --- your cousin, Betty Jane (Janie) and family.

Aunt Bonnie was a very special person who lived out her strong faith by treating everyone with love and compassion. She was especially close to our mother Edna, who came to Canada as a war bride. At the age of 11, she became our mother's penpal. When Mum arrived at the farm in New Sarepta,(our father was still overseas), Bonnie was there to greet her warmly. Mum and Bonnie remained close over the years and we enjoyed seeing her from time to time at Harke reunions. We send sincere condolences to all of Aunt Bonnie's family. Cousins Dianne, Colin, Peter, Vera, John, Jeff, Chris, and Tim
