Justin Philip-Henry Priebe

April 13th, 2013

Justin Philip-Henry Priebe was born in 1986 and left us suddenly on April 13, 2013.

Survived by parents Philip and Susan Priebe, brother Andrew (Stine), sister Amy, Oma (Irma Hoeltgen), grandparents (Vern and Joanne Priebe); as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many friends.

Born in Etobicoke, Ontario, Justin attended Lorne Skuce Elementary School before moving to Langley, BC, where he lived most of his life and attended Peterson Road Elementary School and DW Poppy High School. After graduation, he went to Holsbybrunn Bible School in Sweden and traveled Europe before returning home to Langley to attend Trinity Western University for one year. He worked as a personal trainer before attending BCIT’s carpentry apprenticeship program.

In 2007, Justin’s life was drastically altered by a motorcycle accident. Unable to work, play basketball or soccer, or otherwise participate in the active lifestyle he so enjoyed, Justin spent his time coaching the Douglas Park U-12 soccer team, being a Big Brother (Anthony), dropping in at the Langley Boys and Girls Club, and walking around Langley and Vancouver offering food and hope to those who needed it most.

Justin Priebe: remarkable son, brother, cousin, grandson, nephew, and friend. He has left us and we are heartbroken. Justin’s character and his life has touched all of us. His charm, wit, and honest (sometimes, blunt!) nature made our lives more fun. We celebrate his faith, resilience, humility, and heart. We are inspired by his choice to devote himself to helping others during a time when he was faced with his own adversity.

It has been an honour to know you, Justin Philip-Henry Priebe.

Justin's Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 20 at 10:00am at LEFC. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Langley or to the Justin Priebe Memorial Scholarship Karen Initiative Fund. Both will be represented at the service.

You are invited to leave a fond memory or message of condolence for the family.

Messages:

I only today learned of Justin's passing. I was a neighbour of Justin's for some time and long story short, we had crossed paths a few times over the past year or so. I had only a week before his passing as it turns out. I don't know what to say, other than my thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. God Bless you Justin. It doesn't seem real that he is gone. I didn't know him very well, but he was pleasant and I know he had been through a lot since 2007's accident.

Marcy and Ken told us of Justin's passing. We are so sorry to hear this. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

We are so very, very sorry for your loss.
