January 16, 2025

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother, Jean Isabelle Bedford. Jean passed away peacefully in Palliative Care at the Pasqua Hospital, on January 16, 2025, at the age of 85. She is survived by her 4 sons – Kelvin, Rick, Lon, and Kalyn, and her brother Wes, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jean was born in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan, on October 8, 1939 to Clarence and Edith McKinnon. She will be fondly remembered for her generosity and thoughtfulness of making and giving crocheted blankets, shawls, pot holders and seat cushions to many of her family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Canasta. Jean had a strong desire and determination to always remain faithful to Jehovah God, and to never miss a meeting at the Kingdom Hall. She firmly believed in the hope of the resurrection and is now sleeping awaiting for this hope to become a reality soon. A Memorial talk will be held on Saturday, February 1, at 4:00 pm, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, located at 2020 Van Egmond Place, Regina, Saskatchewan. We are sincerely saddened to hear of the passing of my sister Jean. Our condolences to Jean’s sons, Kelvin, Rick, Lon and Kalyn and families. I have many memories of Jean and the boys while growing up together. When Jean’s sons were young, I spent a few summers with them all in Regina, Saskatoon and Humboldt Sask, those years were memorable times. My wife Joan and I always appreciated Jean’s hospitality and visits with her when in Regina. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. ~ Wes and Joan McKinnon
