Joyce Georgina Schlamp was born on March 19, 1952. She was the youngest of three daughters born to Clara and George Schlamp of Grenfell, Saskatchewan. Joyce grew up on the family farm north of Grenfell and graduated from Grenfell High School before moving to Regina, Saskatchewan to begin working. She worked until this past October when she was forced into retirement. She enjoyed her work and the close friendships she developed over the years. Joyce had one daughter Christine who was also her best friend. Rarely a day went by that they didn’t see each other or spent hours talking to one another on the telephone.
Joyce was predeceased by her parents Clara and George. She is deeply missed by her daughter Christine (David) and granddaughters Hailey, Cassidy and Sydney and a great-grandson Kyani. Also left to mourn Joyce is her partner of 32 years Terry Swayn. Joyce is survived by her sisters Dorothy (Larry), and Linda along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Thank you to Dr. Alsafar, Dr. Ferguson, numerous other doctors, nurses and staff at the Regina Pasqua Hospital and the Alan Blair Cancer Clinic. Your kindness is appreciated and will never be forgotten.
