Clarence MacCormack

Clarence MacCormack went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 22nd, 2023 at the age of 87. Clarence’s greatest joy in life was to make others laugh and he took every opportunity he was given to do so. He was predeceased by his wife Alice MacCormack (McLeod) and will be greatly missed by his daughters Lorraine (Dwight) Lawrence, Barb (Dave) Barber, and son Roger Mac Cormack, Lorna MacCormack. Clarence will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Amara, Jordan, Jesse, Nalanda, Katelin, Macy, Dallas, and Rachel; and by greatgrandchildren Noah, Eva, Zion, Amias, Audrey, Lucy, Mae, Daphne, and Trevor.
Clarence is predeceased by his parents Gordon and Edna MacCormack, brothers John, James, Donald and Calvin, and sister Helen (Riley). Clarence is fondly remembered by his sisters Sarah (Bob) Brown and Jean (Scott) Busby, and by his brothers Gilbert (Marilyn) MacCormack and Lloyd (Maxine) MacCormack.
If you ever met Clarence, you likely were asked a riddle, a pun, or some type of trick. A farmer had 30 “sick” sheep, 3 died, how many are left? Can a man in Saskatchewan marry his wife’s widow? (well no, then he would be dead..) Have you ever seen a pet Mongoose?? He often felt that this type of connection really would help to make someone’s day.
Clarence loved sports, hunting, camping, fishing, and he was an ingenious inventor and pragmatist. Dad was a fabulous poet and storyteller, often telling stories of the many escapades and trouble he and his brothers got in to in Cape Breton. He loved to read about World War II and had deep expertise about all aspect of the war. Dad was very content in all aspects of his life and perhaps a true Scot.
Clarence and Alice made one move in their lifetime, leaving family and friends in Cape Breton in 1967 to move to Regina Saskatchewan where Clarence made a career at SaskPower in the Purchasing Department. They enjoyed their growing family (Grandchildren and Great grandchildren), their friends, and their faith community at Faith Baptist Church. Cape Breton and family there was always close to his heart.
We are blessed with a legacy of faith in the family that has spanned generations and is the foundation of our hope and future. 26 My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. Psalm 73:26.

Lorraine, Roger, Barbara and all of Clarence’s loved ones: We were saddened to hear of our cousin Clarence’s passing from this life. Dan and Florence enjoyed his visit to Belfry this past summer. Doug and I will treasure his visits of other years. One always had to be sharp to try to get the riddle or puzzle he was posing , and we usually were not quick enough!! We, the Hooper family, are saddened to hear of Clarence’s passing. We lived next door in Sydney. I smile when I think of Clarence. His mongoose was famous!! Your family was much missed. Your Mom always visited Mom (Audrey) when they came home. Sadly we lost her in June. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
