Garry LaMontagne

January 16th, 2023

It is with deep sorrow and much love that the family of Garry LaMontagne announces his peaceful passing on January 16, 2023 at the age of 78 years with his family at his side.

He was predeceased by his parents Theresa and Don LaMontagne; his sister Ann; his brothers Don and Ernie; daughter-in-law Shannon. Garry is survived by his wife of 56 years Sharon LaMontagne; his son Bryan and his children Megan (Teegan) and Dylan; his daughter Terrilynn and her children Coen and Cole. He is also survived by his sisters Eve, Shirley and Annette (Chris) and two brothers Rick (Maxine) and Ray (Debbi).

Garry was born in Vancouver, B.C. on January 22, 1944. He owned a plumbing and heating business in Regina, SK for several years then moved to Regina Beach, SK in 1981 where he and his family built the Esso Service Station over the years to follow. Garry was an active member in the community for years with the Lions Club hosting the Walleye Classic, Poker Derbies, snowmobile drag races and the bathtub races. At the age of 60 he started golfing where he met several very good friends along the way. His happiest times were spent with his grandchildren. He had the privilege of watching them all grow up in his own yard. He was a paramount part in each of their lives.

We would like to thank everyone at the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, Regina Pasqua Hospital, the homecare nurses and the staff from the MAID program.

Flowers gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Garry may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre (www.cancerfoundationsask.ca).

A Private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence at the family’s online obituary at: www.myalternatives.ca

Sharon and Family: Jim and I extend our sincerest condolences. We remember the kindness and hospitality you and Garry showed to us on several occasions at your lovely home in Gilbert, AZ. He always greeted you with his famous smile and always had time for a friendly chat. He will be truly missed!
