Shelley Nichol

Shelley was born on June 17, 1962 in North Battleford, SK and passed away peacefully on July 23, 2021 after a lengthy battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) surrounded by the love of her family. Shelley leaves a legacy of love and laughter and will be greatly missed by her son Zachary and his wife Linda Grace, her mom Gloria (Verbonac) Nichol, her brothers Barry (Sharon) and Kevin, her niece Chelsea Turlock (Zak) and nephew Taylor Nichol and their mom Christine (Dwayne) and many great friends.

Shelley graduated from O’Neill High School in 1980, worked at McDonalds, Degelmans, Regina Exhibition and Sasktel which became Westbridge and then ISM. Shelley graduated from the University of Regina with a Software Analyst diploma and continued on at ISM for approximately 25 years. Shelley loved her holidays in Mexico, Las Vegas, the Bahamas, Hawaii, Cuba and Orlando, Florida, and the numerous concerts she attended with friends and family.

Shelley was predeceased by her grandparents Angela and Joseph Verbonac, Sam and May Nichol, uncles Gerald and Gilbert Verbonac and aunt Cynthia Verbonac Sigurdson, cousin Celeste and aunty Claudette Verbonac, uncle Keith Hummerstone and her father Sam (Glenn) Nichol.

Shelley was always a loving and generous person, although her battle with ALS ended; she was able to give the gift of life through organ donation. Shelley encourages everyone to sign up to be an organ donor.

Such a sad time for Zac and Linda mom Gloria and brothers Barry and Kevin. But let us celebrate the good times we had throughout her life! Lots of memories with Shelley travelling to Cuba Mexico Las Vegas and going with her with uncle Eugene and auntie claudette to Branson Missouri we had a blast we could hardly keep up with Them! Every show or event we put our pennies in those souvenirs that pressed them into a souvenir! So recently I went to butterfly gardens in Victoria thinking of Shelley and made her one of those souvenirs with butterfly on it. She just loved it! I worked with Shelley at ISM, and we were on the same team for a year or so. We were Shelley and Shelley reporting to Robert G. I eventually became Shell to make things less confusing. We had so much fun working together. If one of us got stuck the other one could help. She was kind, smart and a pleasure to work with. Could not ask for a better coworker.
