Rhonda Louise Jakubowski

July 26th, 2021

It is with extreme shock and sadness we share the sudden passing of our Wife, Mother and Grandmother Rhonda Louise Jakubowski (Sentes) on Monday, July 26, 2021 at the Regina Pasqua Hospital, Regina, Saskatchewan.

Rhonda was born on April 15, 1960 in Regina, Saskatchewan. She is survived by her husband of 42 years Joseph (Joe); daughter Jodi (Chad); son Jared; grandchildren Allie, Laney, Zoey, Jakub, Kayla, Brandon, Nicholas and Taylor; great-granddaughter Everlee; along with many other family members. She was predeceased by her parents Helen and Alex Sentes and her sister Lyn Robinson.

Rhonda was best known for her welcoming and caring nature. She included everyone and made them feel like family from the moment she met them. Mom always had an open-door policy, “no appointment needed”, but if given enough notice your visit would always include your favourite dish, a favourite beverage and many leftovers to take home. Laughter, conversation and great words of wisdom were also a common occurrence. Mom loved nothing more than having family and friends gathered at the lake. She loved outrageously large bonfires and great tunes on the radio. Mom took great pride in her Grandchildren and in all their accomplishments. She always had time for them.

Mom spent over 30 years working for the Regina Catholic School System. Her dedication and heart went into every student and family she came in contact with. Mom’s tiny stature was always a hit amongst any child that knew her. It seemed like the common goal was to always measure and surpass her height.

Mom touched so many lives and taught us all so many things. She was the roots and strength of our family and was always the underdogs biggest cheerleader. Family, friends and community meant everything to her.

She will be sorely missed by all that had the opportunity to know her.

We would like to thank the Regina Pasqua Hospital ER and ICU Staff. You were incredible and made Mom’s final days full of compassion, comfort and laughter prior to her unexpected passing. We truly appreciate all you did.

At Mom’s request there will be a Private Family Gathering at a later date.

Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Rhonda’s memory to Carmichael Outreach (www.carmichaeloutreach.ca).

Joe Jodi & Jared we are heartbroken along with you! We were shocked to learn of Rhonda’s passing! The world is less bright because she has gained her angel wings! Heaven however is brighter than ever! I remember the first time I meet Rhonda walking into St Michael’s as a unsure newbie. The first thing she said to me with a huge smile on her face was “you’ve got this” & from that moment forward I knew I had met one of the greatest humans ever & a good friend! There was always lots of laughter, joy & the many deep heart to heart conversations that were always so loving…that was Rhonda always giving of herself to others! The ones she loved most fiercely though was her family! She truly was the very best wife mom grandma & GG! After moving to be BC we kept in touch & we will always remember the surprise phone call from her “hey Joe & I are in town we want to come for a visit!” What a great visit it was… Sending our deepest condolences, our love & hugs to you all on the passing of your wonderful Rhonda! She will be so very missed.

Deepest sympathy and prayers on the loss of a very special person! It was always a pleasure to work with Rhonda at St. Catherine School! Her welcoming presence was a great gift and she was always ready to help in any way and was thinking ahead to insure things were done well! Rhonda touched and enriched the lives of so many people including the staff of Holy Child Parish!

It has been said that we leave this earth when our souls have learned all the lessons that they need to before moving on. Rhonda's beautiful soul was the one who definitely taught us lessons on caring, humour, and how to accept everyone. She will be missed for certain,... but her lessons taught will remain with all that were fortunate enough to know and learn from her. Rest easy Rhonda. And thank you.

Many prayers to you family on the passing of such a vibrant soul. I have been blessed to have worked alongside this generous, funny and loving woman. The students and staff adored her and she will be deeply missed.

My sincere condolences on the loss of your mom and grandmother. I knew Rhonda since day 1, she lived across the street on Edgar and I use to babysit her and her sister when their mom and dad went out. Spent many weekends with them at the farm and lake. I always knew your mom would go on the be a special person. We just recently got together on Facebook after about 50 years. I know she will be missed by your family but I know she is having a good time with family in heaven and watching over you. Take care.

Mrs Jakubowski, will be deeply missed. Our son started preschool St.Catherine when he was 4. She was always so kind and caring She always took such good care from sad days to skinned knees. If was sick she would bring homework or call or email to check in. She always cheered on sporting events and asked how the teams did. Every time I needed to go in, she always had time to chat and see how things were. He will be 16 in 3 weeks and was crushed to hear of her passing. When the boys moved into highschool, every time they had the chance, they would pop in to say hi, they all loved her so much. Rest in Peace Mrs J, thank you for helping us raise our kids and being one of the kindest and most wonderful people ever. Condolences to your family from ours. Xo

My condolences to Joe, Jodi, Jared and family. Rhonda was a delightful soul who welcomed all with her brilliant smile and sparkling eyes. When a job needed to be done, Rhonda was there with what seemed like unlimited resources. She simply knew what was needed or knew where to get the information. She was such a blessing to her family, friends and school family. Rest in Peace, Rhonda.

Rhonda spread joy wherever she went. I met Rhonda for the first time as a kind supportive parent at St. Gregory, then had the pleasure of working with Rhonda at Jean Vanier. Rhonda first told me that her role as an Administrative Assistant was to make me look good. And that she always did. As a wonderful colleague to a supportive friend, Rhonda was always there. Rhonda has left a legacy of kindness and was 'mother' to all her children in every school she was at. Joe, Jared and Jodi; she spoke often of each of you; always with love and pride. Her love will sustain you. Rhonda will always be with us and will continue to share her smile with us always. Peace.

Our deepest sympathies, it really is extreme shock and sadness. Joe, Jodi and Jared you are in our thoughts and prayers. Trudy and Cliff Geiger

Joe, Jared, Jodi and family. I was totally shocked as I read of Rhonda's passing. My heart goes out to you all as you miss your wife, mother and grandma. I had known Rhonda for many years working with the school board and savoured our conversations whenever we met after - always with a smile and a laugh with her sparkling eyes, she was one of a kind! May God keep you close and know that she is with you always.

Deepest condolences to Joe, Jodi, and Jared, extended family and friends... We are so saddened to hear of Rhondas passing. We met Rhonda and her family when our daughter married into the Cottrill family who were very close friends with Joe, Rhonda and the kids. Rhonda was Lori's right hand for helping to put on our childrens' wedding at a mountain lodge in Fernie, including catering a rehearsal dinner! We quickly realized how important she was for the Cottrill family ...the heart of gatherings and fabulous cook. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time... we wish you comfort and peace in the days ahead and hope you find both solace and joy as you celebrate Rhondas amazing life. Most sincerely, Leslie and Ray Gosselin

I was deeply surprised in learning of the sudden passing of our dear friend and school division colleague. I had come to know Rhonda when I started with the school division in 1991. My deepest sympathies to her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her and had the opportunity to experience her laughter and spirit.

I have had the pleasure of working with Rhonda at St. Catherine Community School for seven years. As many others have mentioned, she is a rock in our school community. Rhonda welcomed me in on my first day and I have looked at her like a mother every day since. No matter how busy she was in the office she would stop at a moments notice to assist with small and large tasks. She is loved by all staff and students and will be dearly missed. I send my deepest condolences and keep the family in my prayers!

I am at a loss of words. Mrs. J watch not just me but my sisters grow up. She changed many of the St.Catherine cougars lives. She never failed to put a smile on anyone’s face. Mrs.J was the best little thing to hug when having a bad day. All the laughs and stories will never be forgotten. She watched many of us grow up and learn from our mistakes even when we were in the principals office she’d still tell us a joke. She was very loved and will truly be missed. Fly high Mrs. J❤️
