Dianne Shirley Chalus

June 24th, 2021

Dianne passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a long courageous battle with lung cancer at the age of 70 years.

She was predeceased by her parents Jennie and John Kurk of Canora, Saskatchewan and her brother Bill Kurk of Regina, Saskatchewan. Left to mourn Dianne’s passing are her sister Elsie Rusnak; son Kerry Chalus (Debbie) and children Kirkland and Jacob; daughter Kimberly Barisow (Dean) and children Avery and Ashton; son Kelly Chalus (Tracy) and children Justin (great-grandson Hunter), Cody, Jayden, Colton, Tysen, Andra (great-grandchildren Harper and Onyx) and Cadence; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Dianne always had a thirst for knowledge and a keen memory. She loved discussing politics, history, collecting postcards, was an avid fan of the Royal Family, John Wayne Classics and loved watching her CFL when the Saskatchewan Roughriders played. Dianne loved gardening, she found happiness right where she planted it. She had quite the green thumb and was one who could take almost anything and ensure it blossomed. She took pride in everything she did and always tracked her calendar so she would never forget an important date such as a birthday to pass on her love. Dianne will be greatly missed by many.

A Celebration of Dianne’s Life will be held on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Andrews Orthodox Church, Canora, Saskatchewan (2 KM east of Canora, Saskatchewan on Highway #5 will be the first church on the right)

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dianne’s memory may be made to Regina Wascana Grace Hospice.

Messages:

So sorry for your loss of your Mother.... Our deepest Condolences Dave & Vi

I have fond memories of Diane while living in Canora and my sympathy goes out to Diane's Family. She will always be remembered.

Sending condolences to the family and friends. I use to call her, Lady Dianne. I had met Lady Dianne at SIAST on 8th Avenue, Regina believe in 1995. We wrote a play, performed two plays, had a fashion show and also a fracture-fashion show. We did have fun. She was one of my best friends. The last time I had seen Lady Di was when my son had passed away. It was so good seeing her again in-spite of the circumstances. Every once in a while we would send messages on messenger. She was a great friend.

I just saw that Dianne passed. Her and I always had fun and alot of laughs when we got together. I'm sorry for your loss. My condolences and hugs to everyone. I hope to see you August. ❤❤

Sorry to hear about your loss, she was a tough lady & had a fight right til the end, hopefully now she is at peace. Take care❤️

Very sorry to hear of Dianne’s passing, I haven’t seen her since I was a kid in high school. She was definitely what I call a cool mom, she easily connected with us. My condolences to Kelly, Kim, and Kerry.

My deepest condolences to all of Diane’s families Kerry (Debbie), Kim (Dean), Kelly (Tracy) and grandchildren and great grandchildren. Cherish your precious memories with your mom. She fought a great fight now she is free of the pain. You are all in my prayers and thoughts.
