Garry Herbert Reichert

August 20th, 2020

We are so profoundly sad to announce the passing of Garry Reichert on August 20, 2020.

Garry was predeceased by his father Herb. He is survived by his best friend and loving wife Maureen; his three beautiful daughters Sherri (Chip Nixon), Barb (Edwin de Caluwe) and Morgan (Dave Humble). Garry was so proud of his daughters and the women they have become. He was also especially proud of his grandchildren Emnet and Yonas; both of whom brought him great joy. Also left to mourn are Garry’s mother Hazel and sisters Judith Deatrich and Vicki (Garnet Watson).

Garry was a quiet and gentle man of few words who loved to travel, golf, garden and work with wood. He loved his work as part of the SaskTel family of employees.

At Garry’s request there will be no funeral service.  Those wishing to do so may make a donation to the charity of their choice in Garry’s name.

Messages:

Maureen and family, so sorry to hear about Garry. Lots of memories of the two of you at SI and prior. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Maureen, Sherri, Barb, Morgan & Families, I was heartbroken to hear of Garry’s passing. He was a quiet, but fun-loving man and I enjoyed our many Sasktel get togethers. I keep all of you in my prayers and may the love that you shared and your memories of your husband/father/grandfather comfort you as you mourn his loss.

Sorry to hear of Garry’s passing. Our condolences to the family. Remember our families time together long ago as neighbours growing up and then I had the opportunity to curl with Garry much later after we had both retired. His laugh and smile reminded me much of his dad.

Maureen and family. Very sorry to hear of Garry’s passing. Was associated with Garry during my time at SI and for a number of years curling. My deepest sympathy.

When I started with Sasktel Garry was my senior man and showed me through many of our micowave sites. We shared many good times during our careers at Sasktel. Most notably was when Garry recruited me to go with him to China on a Sasktel International project. Garry was a man of integrity, a hard worker and a pleasure to work for as well as a good friend. My sympathy is with Maureen and family. He will be missed.

We were saddened to hear of Gary’s passing. We are thinking of Gary’s family in this time of sorrow. Gary was always a fun person to be around with. In his younger days he and I would go sailing in the summer and curling in the winter. We worked together at SaskTel for a number of years. Gary was a person I could count on to get the job done. He will be missed.

I’m so grateful I got to work with and get to know Garry. We worked together early on when I started at SaskTel and later when he hired me as his Administrator. He impacted my career and my life significantly. He gave me confidence and guidance and was always ready with a simple thank you for the things he appreciated. It meant so much to me. Garry started me off building a Christmas village. He gave me my first ceramic building. I didn’t even know I wanted to build a village, but I did after he gave me the first one. He followed up with other buildings throughout the years we worked together and I’ve carried on. Every year when I put up the village I think about him. It will be so bittersweet this year. I miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I worked with Garry for many years at SaskTel and, as the obituary described him, he was a kind and gentle man, taken from his family way too young. Our sincere condolences to his family in his passing, he will be missed. Laverne and Morgan Williams
