Charlene Horaska

October 17th, 2019

With dignity, grace and strength, our beautiful mother Charlene Horaska (nee Dalrymple) passed on the evening of October 17, 2019 in Regina, Saskatchewan.  She was predeceased by her parents Jack and Isabel Dalrymple, her eldest sister Jean and two infant siblings.

Her love lives on through her family: husband Willard, sons Dale (Karen), Kelly (Alisa), daughter Jolene (Brian), honorary son Kelly Hoffer and daughter-in-law Joan. Her life blessings are her grandchildren Brennen, Justin, Brett, Avery, Liam, Ella, Isabel, Kael, great-granddaughter Melanie and great-grandson James. Grandma loves you!

Mom took pride in her dedication to the same company for 50 years – as a constant figure throughout many changes. Her past five years remain a highlight of her career at Eriks Industrial Services with the support of Buffy, Jessica and many coworkers, who sent their love and prayers.

She enjoyed countless road trips to Swift Current for baseball games and cried many tears over sports such as synchronized swimming, figure skating and curling. Who cries in curling?

Our Mom had many true friendships and loving relationships which reflected her sense of humor and welcoming nature. She was grateful for the times shared with her brothers and sisters – Jim, Norm, Walter, Diane, Betsy, Linda and their families. Best friends; Vivian – Rider fans for life, Marilyn – long-time neighbour and dedicated walking/talking partner, and Joanne and Earv – who shared many wonderful times together through their children and sports.

It was Mom’s wish to not have a service, she can be remembered through music and laughter. She was cremated with the help of Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Services in Regina who have been wonderful in this difficult time. Her remains will rest on Vancouver Island. The Horaska family would like to thank everyone for the food, hugs, prayers and support.

Our mothers’ garden awaits by the ocean of eternal love.

Messages:

Dear Horaska family, I would like to extend my deepest sympathy on the passing of Charlene. She was my mentor back when I was 15 and started working during the summer at Indequip sales. She had to teach me so many things and was such a delight to work with. I know she was such a valued employee through all those years and changes. May the wonderful memories bring you some peace in time. Royce and Jody Snitzler (nee Lyon)

My sincere condolences to the Horaska and Dalrymple families.
