Wesley Andrei

February 17th, 2018

Wesley Andrei, late of Regina, SK passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the age of 89 years. He was born on December 31, 1928 in Ormiston, Saskatchewan. Wesley is survived by his loving wife Helen Andrei and his four children Faron Andrei, Doyle Andrei, Lyndon Andrei, Rhonda Andrei and his daughter-in-law Debra Andrei; four grandchildren Jamie (Ryan) Ayres, Dustin (Kim) Andrei, Devin Andrei and Jackson Andrei; two sisters Rose Boyenko and Eva Stratulat. Wesley was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Flora Andrei; brothers Eli, Dan, Connie, Sager and Johnny.

Wesley Andrei spent his youth in the Ormiston and Moose Jaw areas. Early in life he pursued his love of music. He began working for the city of Moose Jaw. However, music quickly became a full-time profession. His band, Wes and the Westerners, became popular in the Moose Jaw and Regina areas. He played at many of the local dance halls such as Temple Gardens in Moose Jaw, Darke Hall and Trianon Ballroom in Regina. He also had radio shows on CHAB radio in Moose Jaw and CKRM in Regina. He also promoted the Grand Ole Opry and was certainly a successful musician. It was at the Temple Gardens Dance Hall that Wesley met his wife Helen Yaremchuk.

In 1957 Wes and Helen started having a family. But there were also other big changes on the way. While attending the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Wes and Helen dedicated their lives to the service of God and gave up their music livelihood and began the process of entering the ministry. Initially, they travelled to the Yukon where Wes worked for Transport Canada and ministered to the people in the North. Shortly thereafter, Wes completed his studies at Briercrest Bible Institute and entered the ministry on a full-time basis. Throughout his working life Wes remained a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ in several different Christian denominations, both in Canada and the United States.

He will be sadly missed by all his friends and family.

Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in Rosewood Park Alliance Church, corner of Courtney St. and Whelan Dr., Regina, SK with Wes’ nephew Pastor Wayne Andrei officiating.  Private family interment in Riverside Memorial Park.

Messages:

My sincere condolences to Lyndon and family.

A wonderful uncle who was persistent in sharing the gospel until all our family became Christians. He was a great example to each of us. We enjoyed theological discussions. One time I asked him what he believed about the second coming of Jesus and he replied, "what the Bible says". He didn't stray from the Word. I Loved his contagious smile and his care for his family. Will be greatly missed.

He was a kind and wonderful neighbor, We always enjoyed visiting all the family. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Andrei Family.

Dear Debbie and Doyle, We are so sorry to hear of the loss of your father. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

My condolences to the Andrei family as you say your goodbyes and celebrate the life of Wes.
