Donald MacDonald

In Loving Memory of Donald Martin MacDonald

March 3, 1936 – September 6, 2023

Donald Martin MacDonald passed away on September 6, 2023, at the age of 87. He was born in the town of Campbell River, B.C.,

Don's pursuit of knowledge led him to the University of British Columbia, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. With dedication and a caring heart, he went on to open Coquitlam Pharmacy (Peoples Drug Mart) in Port Coquitlam, leaving an indelible mark on the community from 1969 to 2001.

Don was a kind and generous man who touched the lives of many both during his long career as a community pharmacist and in his personal life. He was quick to compliment and welcoming to many. His intelligent wit, his interest in others and his fighting spirit are traits that defined him. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Don's greatest treasure was his family. He shared 59 years with his wife and best friend June. Together they built a legacy of love that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew them.

Through his life Don enjoyed fishing, hiking, travel, and the solace of his cherished property at Pender Harbour.

He was a source of strength and inspiration to his two daughters, Chandra (Rainer) and Linden (David) and was so proud of his five grandchildren, Nadine, Jacob, Elayna, Jesse, and Joey. His spirit will live on in their memories and in those whose lives he touched. Forever in our hearts.

A celebration of Don's life will take place on November 18, 2023, at Glenayre Hall, 492 Glencoe Drive, Port Moody, from 2 – 4.
