Helen Schampier

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Helen Schampier.

Helen was born in Bronx, New York, U.S.A. in 1940 and had three other siblings - two brothers and one sister; the only survivor is her younger sister, Marie Lang.

Helen started her working career in New York as a medical technologist for eight years. In 1970 she moved to Dryden Ontario where she worked as a bench tech, and later supervisor, in the laboratory of the Dryden District Hospital for twenty-five years. After retirement, Helen moved to Abbotsford, B.C. (1970) for the warmer climate and to be closer to her sister who lived in Washington at the time. She became a Christian and was introduced to many wonderful people who became good friends. She spent her spare time doing volunteer work and was then given a opportunity to help care for two month old twins (Roxanne and Jaqueline). This became a new opportunity which expanded over the years and these girls became her family.

She leaves behind her Sister Marie, Niece Bobbi-Jo, Granddaughters Roxanne and Jaqueline, and Great Grandson Brady.

Memorial Service will be taking place at Central Heights Church on March 7th, 2026.
