GILCHRIST, Moyra Jean “Midge”

Midge passed away at Sarcee Hospice after a long battle with cancer, on Friday, September 22, 2017, at the age of 83. Midge was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Tom & Adabel Allan. She received her teaching certificate from Queens College in Toronto. She loved to garden, read, and attend musical theatre with friends. She also enjoyed her time volunteering over the years at Lakeview United Church.

She will be dearly missed by her son, Allan (Susanne); daughter, Lori Croal; grandchildren, Jessi (Brian), Kelsey (Jeremy), Chris, Nicole (Wade), Mackenzie; and great-grandchildren, Ayden, Mason, Jayden, Jenna, Matthew and Grace. A Memorial Service will be held at Lakeview United Church, 3023 - 63 Avenue SW, Calgary, AB on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 1:00 pm.

Dear Allan, Lori and family; We were sad to find out last night that Midge has passed away. She was a real trooper dealing with cancer the past few years. We have been her neighbours on the west side for 23 years and always appreciated her good nature and her community spirit. Midge was the one (almost the only one) who would show up at our door canvassing for Heart and Stroke, or the Cancer Society, or the community association year after year. She was always great to us and our sons, Danny and Austin. We were on vacation the past two weeks and didn't hear of her passing until now. Our condolences to you all - Mike and Dena
