Vernon Dacre Johnson
July 26, 2014

Vern passed away peacefully at Langley Memorial Hospital after a lengthy fight with COPD and emphysema. Vern was predeceased by his loving wife Audrey, his brother Ken and his sister Joan.
He is loved by many and will be greatly missed by his 4 children: Cathe (& Stan), Sandy (& Richard), Ed (& Bev), Deb (& Lance) as well as by his many “dividends” – his grandchildren (Cynthia(Jordi), Tracy(Matt) , Kim(Steve) , Chad, Cory, Jenny, Ashley) and great-grandchildren (Maddison, Carter, Clara, Jake and Evan).
Vern was a very devoted family man and who loved his golf.
Vern and his family spent many summer fun times at the Oasis in Osoyoos. Vern was also involved as a Cub Leader, Scout Leader and Venture Advisor as well as District Commissioner in East Vancouver with Boy Scouts of Canada. Vern worked the majority of his life for Weldco Manufacturing (Weldco-Beales Manufacturing) as a Journeyman Metal Fabricator.
We will forever find him now in the smoke of a bbq, the cover of a readers digest, the hum of an old song, Christmas eve videos, a good laugh at a bad Grandpa joke, a good debate, a good drive, walnuts, early morning swims, Father’s Day picnics and of course Waffle Sunday.
We are holding a Celebration of Life for Vern on Aug 28 2014 @12 noon @ Fort Langley Golf Course @ 9782 McKinnon Crescent.
In lieu of flowers Vern and the family would request that donations be made to a trust fund for his nephew’s wife, Cathy Johnson. Cathy suffered a major stroke last July. She will continue to require ongoing care and treatment on her road to recovery. Donation envelopes will be made available at the service.
You are invited to leave a persona message of condolence for the family.
