Rebecca Medina Subido

March 8th, 2023

It is with a heavy heart that Terence and I announce the passing of our beloved mother, Rebecca Medina Subido on the 8th of March 2023 at 14h45 in Surrey, British Columbia, with her sister Josefina Borromeo, sons Brian and Terence Subido, daughter-in-law, Sharon Subido, and grandson Daniel Cade Subido by her side. Rebecca bravely fought a long battle with breast cancer.

Rebecca was the second oldest of five children born in Manila, Philippines. A bright student, Rebecca went on to Arellano college to study nursing, a fitting choice of studies for a woman who was always caring and generous with everyone. While in college, she was active with the nurse student council. It was also when she also became romantically involved with Mario Subido.

After a few years together, they made a life-changing decision to move to Montreal, Canada in 1974.
In Montréal, Rebecca returned to school to get re-certified as a nurse and learn French to follow her career path. When she was finally able to work as a nurse, she was known at the hospital to be quick and efficient at her job while taking excellent care of her patients.

In her 14 years in Montreal, Rebecca, a connoisseur of good food, discovered many new cuisines. Her love of trying new cuisines refine her already outstanding cooking skills.  Montréal is known for its style and WOW did she ever have such a fashion sense! Always presenting new looks and owning a shoe collection to rival Imelda Marcos.

In 1988, Rebecca, her husband, and two boys, made another big move to British Columbia. In her new home, Rebecca’s charismas won her many new friends. She was always social and enjoyed her time with her friends by travelling the world or sitting around a kitchen table just chatting away.

Lots of love always surrounded her up to her last day. She will be remembered as a great provider, mother, and a good friend to many.
She will be lovingly missed by her sons, Brian and Terence Subido, daughter-in-law, Sharon Subido, and grandsons Sean Aaron Subido and Daniel Cade Subido.

May you rest in peace, Rebecca! We love you very much.
