Kirk, Norman Edwin

February 25, 1947 (Didsbury) – January 25, 2021 (Calgary)

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Norman Kirk of Carstairs, Alberta at the age of 73.  Norman grew up on the Kirk farm east of Carstairs.  As a teenager he worked nights at Wessex service station pumping gas and fixing tires. He moved on to work as a well operator in the oil fields west of Crossfield for many years. Norman then drove school bus for Chinooks Edge School District in Carstairs for 25 + years and continued farming until recently. He also had his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying as well as playing hockey and baseball.

Norman will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his family and good friend, Trudy Reap.  Left to mourn are his son, Raymond Kirk (Emily); grandchildren, Katiya, Katarina, Piper, and Edwin; daughter, Jina Kirk (Marlon); grandchildren Amber, Ecko, and Austin; sister Gladys Elhard (Clayton); nieces, Debbie Boyes (Mike) and Karen Elhard; as well as his great nieces.

Norman was predeceased by his mother, Crismas; and niece, Cathy.

The family would like to thank Trudy for her endless support, kindness, and compassionate care of Norman during the past year.

A private family Celebration will be held at a later date.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Southern Alberta Multiple Myeloma Patient Society https://www.southernalbertamyeloma.ca/donate.
