HALL, Michael Gordon

October 5, 1941 – July 15, 2021

It is with profound sadness & broken hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Gordon Hall on Thursday, July 15, 2021 after fighting a hard & courageous battle with cancer.

Mike was born on October 5, 1941 IN McKenzie Island, Ontario, to George and Donna Hall.

Mike worked at the Port Arthur shipyards as a supervisor in the warehouse for many years until they closed the plant. He also owned & operated Slyder Sports with his sons Donald & Jason.

He was an avid sportman and coached Thunder Bay minor football for many years. He also participated in many sporting events with his sons. He was his grandson, Zachery’s biggest hockey fan, never missing a game and always the loudest in the arena cheering him on.

He will be lovingly missed & forever remembered by his loving wife and soulmate, Sharon; sons, Donald (Christie), Jason (Jayde); daughter, Michelle; grandchildren, Haddon, Justin, Zachery, Willow, Alexa (Brandy); his sister, Beverley (Gene) Dubois (Brookehaven ms); extended family, Sherill (Dino) Michieli, Jan Harris, Pam Pasowisty, Wendy (Joe) Michieli; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was so loved by them all. Mike was predeceased by his parents, George & Donna Hall; and son, Michael Jr.

The family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses & all others that helped care for Mike and keep him comfortable at Dulcina Hospice. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, a donation made in Mike’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

If love alone could have kept you here, you would have lived forever

Till we meet again

Messages:

Auntie Sharon, Jay (Bird), and Don, I grew up with you guys as family for a lot of years and have thought about all of you many times over the years. I especially thought of Uncle Mike in recent years, mostly because of Fatherhood. Despite having a great Father of my own, I was blessed to have a second great Father right next door. It also allowed me to learn two different ways to deal with your children. Uncle Mike taught me that it is okay to hug your kids and tell them you love them, also, that an understanding and helping hand goes a long way with a child's confidence in their abilities to rebound from anything. I have no doubt that I am who I am today because he was part of my childhood, along with the rest of you. The understanding Aunt/Mom, the hilarious Best Friend/Brother, and the sometimes Cool and sometimes Bully Big Brother (that I never had). I can only imagine how much you all will miss him. Condolences from me and my family to you and the rest of yours Paul

Mike was a good friend and neighbour to Terry and I and a loving husband and father to you and the boys. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May good memories and time ease your sorrow. Rest in pease Mike and when you see Terry tell him I miss him.

My dearest sister Sharon & family my thoughts & prayers are with you at this most difficult time in your life. Mike was the most awesome brother in law & wonderful friend you could ask for. Some truths in life are hard to accept There are no "GOOD BYES" where ever you'll be. He may be gone from our sight, but he will always remain in our hearts & memories forever. We love you. Your loving sis Janny & family REST IN PEACE "HALLSY"
