Delaware Richard Hobby

December 1st, 2020

Oct. 14, 1936 - Dec. 1, 2020

Delaware (Del) beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Hospital with family at his side.

Born in Big Beaver, Saskatchewan, he moved to Calgary in 1956, then Carstairs in 1994.

Because he enjoyed camping and traveling, he drove across Canada and the U.S. camping along the way. He met a lot of people and made many friends wherever he went.

As a Millwright, he was very well known to be very inventive and had an imagination second to none. If you needed something built, he was the one you came to. His garage door was always open and he would never turn down an opportunity to build something unique.

He will be greatly missed by his only brother, Lawrence; son, Morley (Susan); daughters, Marilyn (Brian), Sherry; and stepdaughter, Brenda (Ron); as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his loving wife; Georgina (nee Myer) in March 2019.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Carstairs at a later date in 2021.
