Doug passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Hospital at 80 years. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Ruth of 47 years; children, Timothy Strand, TerriAnn Strand, Ruby-Anne Winship, Doug (Karen) Strand; grandchildren, Ruthanne (Alyssa) Cady, Will and Brandon Winship, Emily (Tye) Fisher, Morgan, Raelyn and Grant Strand, Grady and Morgan Goian, Raymond and Amelia; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Vera; and brothers, Glen and David Pedersen. Doug was predeceased by his mother, Jeanette Pedersen; sisters, Irene, Lorraine; and brothers, Bill Dubie and Marcel Strand. A Celebration of Life will be held at Nose Creek Valley Museum, 1701 Main St S, Airdrie, AB on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in Doug’s memory to Canadian Cancer Society, 200, 325 Manning Road NE, Calgary, AB T2E 2P5.
